Spend a little time taking in the great views of Rio and the Atlantic.
Don't skip the train, and seat on the right side of the train when climbing up. Price seemed a little high though.

When you are in Rio, from everywhere you can see the Christ, it is amazing and it looks so powerfull! I love the Christ! You have to visit, but when you are there, the view is beautifull (with no clouds), but the statue is not that interesting.

The interest of Corcovado should be the magnificent view on Rio de Janeiro, but unfortunately I experienced a foggy afternoon and waited a long for the sun. When the touristic photographer removed his apparatus it was the sign that the visit was over. To reach Corcovdo you can choose among a nice train wagon (fascinating, but long queue), a service of small coaches (lot of curves) or thousands of steps (for free...).

A must for any visitor to Rio. Fantastic views again of the city. Olivia will arrange transport either by mini bus to the statue or she will arrange that you be taken to the tram station and then the trip to the Corcavado is by tram. Interesting option.

If you are in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil might as well visit this statue.

The REASON: It is one of The New Seven Wonder of the World.
You need to check it off on your bucket list of course !!!!

I personally think this statue, which is Nothing special made it on the list is due to a popularity contest based on voting from the Brazilian population. Brazil have the 5th largest population 195 million people, after China, India, USA, Indonesia. and I think the government encouraged the people to vote for this statue, knowing that will be a GREAT TOURIST attraction and encourages economic gain as a result.

See it if you are in town, but I would not make special effort unless you want to check it off your bucket list.
