Owner description: Avenida Atlantica, with the iconic wavy sidewalk mosaic of Roberto Burle Marx, is ideal for strolling along Copacabana Beach. It is lined with beachside kiosks offering refreshments such as a chilled coconut, and at the far end is a quaint area where fishermen bring their fresh catch ashore.

This is the main street that snakes all along Copacobana Beach. You have the city on one side, and the beach & ocean on the other.

The beautiful mosaic sidewalk is wide, plus there are bike paths all along. If you prefer, then just stick your toes in the sand and walk along the beach. All along you will find food and drink for sale, along with myriad items from beach sellers and interesting sights such as huge sand castles. On the other side of the street, you will find nice restaurants, hotels and other shops.

If you like walking, biking, running or just sunning on the beach, then you'll enjoy this strip.

I have seen my share of beachfront and esplanades, and I was expecting the same. But like the saying in Asia: This one is "Same same, but different". No seriously, this beachfront is really special. The spirit, the atmosphere, the mood, the style, everything about it - day or night - is really special.

You can enjoy a nice walk and you will watch hundreds of people passing by doing all sorts of things. I am personally not the type of person that like to walk on the beach side just because I have nothing else to do, but to be honest, a walk on this esplanade is really great and entertaining.

Anyway, if you are in Rio, you will definitely go through it.

The diversity of people we saw as we walked along the Av Atlantica was fascinating. The black and white mosaic walkway was different.

Huge avenue alongside a huge beach, but too busy with cars and people. Its also a bit dirty and since the metro more homeless people arrived who live on the street, which contrasts quite awkwardly with the classy and expensive hotels. Its the fall of an empire.

Avenida Atlantica or Copacabana Beach. The hotels and apartment buildings are separated from Copacaban Beach by two three lanes roads which are very busy.
Food at the beach is bad, drinks are expensive. Go one street back and you will find many good, colorful local restaurants, so called Boteco. Have a Caiphirinia or a ice cold Chopp with some empanades, or fresh juice with salade. Great food for a resonable price.
I like Belmonte and Bibi very much.
