You can have a nice lunch at Café 18 at the balcony with full view over Copacabana beach.
Dessert, coffee or tea is a good call at Confeitaria Colombo (although it's not as nice and fancy as the original in the city centre).
Real cannons and bunkers can be seen.
There's always some event and exhibitions.

This fort is well worth the small entrance fee. You can see the whole sweep of Copacabana Beach with sugarloaf mountain as a full stop at the end. When we were there they were showing a film about the building of the statue of Christ which was a bonus.
There are two Cafe's with outdoor seating, the views are of Copacabana and blue sea - a very relaxing place to sit and lose a couple of hours!.

The site alone is worthwhile. The view to Pao de Acucar, the whole length of Copacabana beach is magnificent. Colombo has a cafe to while away some down time with this view. There is an entry fee even to eat.

Very historic and interesting as an old fort. Had a sandwich and a guarana here. Nice place to relax and watch beachgoers on copacabana and ipenema.
