This hotel, one street away from the Northern end of Copacabana beach was a pleasant surprise.

We booked one night through Internet at a great price considering the location and were not disappointed.

First, we arrived at 8am and had the possibility to check in right away since the rooms were available. That was greatly appreciated since we just arrived by plane.

The rooms are spacious and clean. They could do with a refurbishment but you cannot complain for the price they are charging. They had a TV and AC. The bathroom was also large, with shower, toilet and sink.

The breakfast is buffet style with a lot of choice (from bacon and eggs to cereal and fresh Brazilian fruit).

Two negative comments I would need to make: the hotel has three elevators but each has its own call button which means you may stop at many unwanted floors because everybody calls all three. Second, we needed to print a document and were told the night before this was not a problem. The morning during check out we asked to print the document (a boarding pass) but they said it was not possible. I find it strange for a hotel not to be able to print such documents for their guests.

Check in was very smooth and staff were friendly - we had currency we needed to change and they were even willing to organise that at the hotel for us (although the exchange rate wasn't too favourable - we left it and got a higher rate the following day at an exchange centre, however it's a great that they offered to help us out). A great location, just a couple of minutes walk to Copacabana beach.

The room was a good size and the bathroom was very clean, the bed was comfy, air conditioned - no working safe though which we would have liked but all in all not a drama. We were in a room on the third floor with a balcony but to be honest the door to the balcony just let in quite a bit of street noise - the streets quietened down at about midnight which made for a bit of a broken sleep. The floors higher up I'd imagine wouldn't have this issue (or at least not as much).

One downside - the doors to the rooms (ours included) on the floor closed very heavily, almost as though they were being slammed but it is just the way they close, so every time someone left their room there was a loud bang which echoed throughout the floor. Not so much of an issue during the day but late at night/early evening was a bit frustrating as I'm a light sleeper.

Great breakfast selection - LOTS of fresh fruit (delicious), breads, cereal, hot foods (bacon/egg/chorizo), tea, coffee, yoghurt and some sweet cakes etc. Very happy there!

My family and i stayed a night at acapulco for a night and it was very nice. The hotel is a block away from copacabana beach. Lots of restaurants near by which was great.
The door men are very attentive also.
Good place during world cup craziness :-)

This hotel is in a good position only 50 yds from Copacabana beach, within a short taxi ride to Sugar Loaf. The breakfast was very good in a nice open restaurant. However the Hotel itself was disappointing for a number of reasons:-
- The general standard was more like 2 star than 4 star ( and we paid for an upgrade ).
- The rooms were of a very poor standard with old furniture and the bathrooms badly needed upgrading. We complained because we were on the back overlooking the bins. We were moved to a front room with a very small balcony, which was better.
- Only one person spoke English on reception, but he was very helpful.
- Rio in general was interesting but squalid in places so visitors should be prepared.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a premium room at the front with a small balcony although there is no view only the back...

This hotel is located in Copacabana area, opposite to sea beach. This is next to hotel Windsor. The Monument /statue of Pricess Isabel is just opposite to he hotel.Hotel has a very good /spacious lobby. The conceirge is always willing to assist and guide you.Front desk (morning) is also helpful.Checkin process is was smooth. One has to be careful with persons who approach you with an offer to help to find Indian restaurants very close to hotel. There donot appear to be any Indian restaurant around.Though the people around cautioned us to be careful with strangers and not go alone in the night,we didnot face any such problems.we are very comfortable.Rooms are very clean and reasonably bigger in size.My room was facing sea.Like any other many hotels in the country of Brazil, this hotel also does not equip with coffee maker.Surprisingly, the Restaurant in this hotel does not offer Lunch and Dinner facility. This offers only complimentary breakfast from 06.00 to 11.00 am.Anything that is ordered outside this offer is chargeable. The restaurant is very big/spacious.Very comfortable. The staff are polite and courteous.House keeping is helpful. The hotel location is very good. This hotel helps to explore the entertaining hubs around the same area..We were given late check out till 2.00 pm,but we didnot avail till such time. But the hotel has taken care of our Baggage till 8.00 pm.We had a comfortable stay in this hotel.

Room Tip: prefer sea facing room.

One of the best option to stay in Rio but if you don't need a seaview. A/C was silent and widnows were soundproof (rare combination in Brazil). Free wifi in the room and very good breakfast, better, than in some 5* Copacabana hotels. Free parking. Highly recommend this place. Room tip: take one view balcony facing on the backyard or side-street, main street is very noisy.

We were there for a few nights in November 2013 and got an air-conditioned room at the first floor, with a small balcony just above the hotel entrance. The room was large and clean, with a very spacious and comfortable bed - not too soft, just right. However, the bathroom was a different story - although clean, it didn't look as if it were ever refurbished - since the hotel opened - and was rather damp.
Besides its very good location - just near the Copacabana beach - the hotel is close to bus stations, a small supermarket and even a small shopping mall is about a 15-minutes walk away.
Breakfast was great - a lot of fresh fruit, juice, cereals, pastry, local dishes (which you should absolutely try) and more familiar items from the cheese-meat-eggs category. Coffee might seem a bit watery if you are an espresso & co. drinker.
The staff was nice and helpful - their English was just fine for basic conversation.

Room Tip: A room on an upper floor might be quieter
