“Great place to stay in Copacabana”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

As a Solo traveler this Hotel has everything what you may need during a stay in Rio!
Ive stayed in Rio for 3 days and really liked the stay here!

Location:
Its very close to the Copacabana beach. From GIG International Airport you can reach the Hotel with Taxi in about 40 minutes for circa 50-60 Reals. You also have more Transfer Bus companies for 16 Reals with more stops and more travel time. Be careful to ask them where to get off the bus so you can save lots of walking. Most people dont speak English in Rio whats a problem. In the street where the Hotel is located you find lots of shops, restaurants.

Rooms:
Bright with big bed (if you pick the double room) and LCD TV. Nice bathroom with shower. If you stay in Rio you dont spend too much time in your room anyway. So its for taking a shower, sleeping and having breakfast. Staff came daily to clean your room. You also have a small minibar whats ideal to cool your own drinks what you buy in shops :)

Breakfast:
Continental breakfast with not a huge selection. But i think everyone is finding something what he/she likes. Fruits, cold and hot drinks, bread with some cheese and meat, sweet cakes etc.

Staff:
Very friendly and helpful! Most important is that they do speak English!!! They were always helping me in anything if i had a question (nearest shop, hair dressers, best place to buy gifts). Thank you again for the help!

Overall its a good value (Rio is very expencive) and good location. I would stay here again!

Just one block from the beach makes this hotel pretty handy. Its a simple hotel, with basic but clean and good sized rooms. Unfortunately the walls are thin and you can hear everything going on in the corridors, but if you are not a light sleeper this is fine. Fabulous breakfast! The reception is roomy and the staff are helpful. I would recommend this as a cheaper option hotel, but Rio doesn't come cheap.

Room Tip: A room at the back away from the road would be quieter and the higher the better.

The best thing about this hotel for us was their breakfast. We loved it. The location of this hotel is good too. What we did not like
1. We were one couple and an adult son. They gave us one large room with 4 single beds, hostel style. Not even close to the pictures they post on this site.
2. The closets smelled unpleasantly. We did not putout close there.
3. The safe in the room had a big hole and we needed a lock, given by the hotel. We were to assume a $100 if the key was lost. It is time they had a combination lock arrangement.
4. The elevator did not get to our floor. It is not terrible to walk one floor up but I bet they do not advertise this fact.
5. We paid a price for what should have been a normal nice room but was anything but.

Room Tip: I have no idea how to avoid the trap we fell into.

This is a great place to stay. The hotel itself is nice, the rooms are comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful, despite our language barriers. The location is fantastic. A block from the beach and within walking distance to a lot of great restaurants.

I decided to stay in this hotel as per very high rating given by other reviewers. And it was quiet easy to verify these appraisals. Hotel situated close to Copacabana and next to Avenida Atlantica turned out to be very friendly. Three items need to rise up: first - what makes this hotel exceptional - is a extremly various and tasty breakfast till 11.00. Second - cooperative and understanding staff unable me to stay half day longer as per my airplain departure time. I just asked and pay for half a day - no problem. And the last one - three independent lifts very convenient for hotel residents. Neigberhood of Leme - very calm and safe area with some good shops. Taxi stop not far away .
Hope this will be of help when deciding where to stay.
Good Luck!!!

Room Tip: All rooms upto 12 floor have three lifts available. 13 th floor could be reached only by two of them

We stayed for 6 days for a bit of R&R and sightseeing. The hotel was well located just off Copacabana beach, the facilities were good and breakfast was bounteous. Service was good and everybody spoke enough English to help us with what we needed. Only negative was that the cleaners started early so if you forgot to put do not disturb on your door you may well get woken at 8 (as we found on our first morning
