“A restaurant and the most beautiful view of Copacabana Beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2014

Well, Sofitel is a signature. It doesn't matter where it is. But Atlantis at Sofitel Rio de Janeiro Hotel, besides being an excellent restaurant, will offer you one of the most beautiful views of Copacabana beach, the Atlantic Ocean and the mountains of Niterói, Rio's twin city on the other side of the Guanabara Bay. Acclaimed French Chef Roland Villard commands all Sofitel Rio de Janeiro's restaurants, with the quality, taste and excellency he puts in everything he does. Atlantis is opened for lunch everyday with an outstanding buffet. On Saturdays, its "Feijoada" (Brazilian typical meal made with black beans and pork shops) is among the best ones in town. Atlantis has been recently renovated: modern, clean and very trendy! Two last remarks: 1) if weather allows, do seat on its terrace under the ombrellones and enjoy Rio's touching atmosphere and sea breeze; and 2) in a town known for its sky rocketing prices, you'll see happily that Atlantis has quite reasonable prices for a restaurant of such high standard, décor and cuisine. Enjoy!

“MUST-DO in Rio!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2014

This place should be listed in the must-do in Rio.
The restaurant offers one the the best view of Copacabana by night one could ever ask.
Despite the fact that the restaurant is very posh and elegant and my group was very casual dressed and let me say, also quite dirty from the long walking day, they welcomed us warmly.
We went there in the evening with the idea of taking just few drinks thinking we couldn't afford anything else there, we were quite surprised by the fact that the price range was the one of an average European restaurant.
Highly recommended for a dinner or at least cocktails.

“Wonderful view and great food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2014

The Atlantis restaurant is not on the ground floor, which makes it very special. You get a great view of the beach and of Sugar Loaf Mountain and a wonderful breeze. The food was very good and the service was excellent. They complimentary soup and tasty fresh bread was a great start to our meal. The portions are a good size. We both had the Cod which was very tasty and presented beautifully. I highly recommend heading to the Horse's Neck bar ahead of your meal where the Capierihnas are perfect and served with complimentary and abundant olives, nuts and chips. Splurge a little, you will be glad you did.

I had dinner at the Atlantis and while the food was good, the view was even better! It was fantastic! The staff were also very attentive and provided excellent service. I was not disappointed.

“Ok restaurant with amazing view”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 23, 2013

Food was ok: had lunch and dinner a couple of times. Meat was chewy. However, hamburger was ok. Nice caipirinhas. Service was a bit slow, but staff was kind and friendly. View is amazing.
