The menu has many options and we can find good and exotic special dishes.

The prices are almost fair (considering the recent high cost of services in rio de janeiro), but the experience make it worth.

Small place but cozy

We found this little gem of a restaurant by accident. Rio can be expensive and the quality of the food can vary greatly. We stayed in Urca region and tried all the little food places around Urca beach - once we tried this one we kept going back. The food was so good I kept saying "Oh my God how good this is" over and over and I even took photos of the beautifully presented plates just to remember afterwards how good it was. We ate there three times and each time tried something different and each time it was just stunning. They also have some nice wines and it's all served with a smile. The owner is lovely. To be honest, he could charge a lot more for the dishes - we were surprised it didn't cost more for what it was. It's a small place so you'll be lucky if you get the one table by the window, overlooking the sea. This was by far the nicest restaurant I visited in Rio.

This is a fabulous place! The food was wonderful. The space is charming. The service impeccable. And the owner is incredibly nice.

It has the feeling of a French Brasserie and the food feels like a fusion of French & Brazilian. We particularly enjoyed the trio of tapenades and the chimichurri steak. LOVED that I asked for the steak medium rare and it actually came out medium rare...that hardly ever happens!

HIGHLY recommend! I particularly recommend it before or after Sugarloaf if you're headed there.

What a fantastic Find. Tucked away around the corner from Sugerloaf, overlooking a small beach, Julius Trattoria is lovely. Great fresh food, cooked with flair and subtlety and a great wine list in a chic, relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant is owned and run by Julius (surprise) a really nice expat Dutch guy who clearly knows how to run a restaurant. Best meal in Rio by far. We had mains of Sole and pesto pasta and desserts of guava and tapioca ice cream and chocolate and cashew nut torte, which were all amazing.

I was here for lunch and enjoyed their executive menu. The service, food, and presentation were good. If you are in the Urca area and looking for a nice restaurant, this is it. The prices for the lunch menu were very reasonable.
