The Copacabana is one of the most popular beaches at the world.
There are always a lot of people enjoying music, the sun or some drinks.
You find small places that sell caipirinha all around the area and there is a small market with great souvenirs every night between Copacabana and Ipanema beach.
I loved to go to Copacabana because there you have the typical brazilian flair with people dancing and enjoying their life.
Although the beach is not too clean, it's still nice to spend some time there just relaxing.

Great for people watching and watching beach sports but terrible for swimming due to a serious shore break alot of the time.

This is definitely not the best beach in Rio - very crowded, but if you go to the area near the Copacabana fort then it is in my opinion more enjoyable as you have the views of the fort, the beach is narrower and cozier so the overall experience improves compared to the other parts of the this beach.

We had the best capivodka's (or whatever they are called) for about $4 on the beach. We were surprised to see a lot of "not so slim" girls/women in super teeny bikini's!

Just try to walk down this gorgeous beach without having the song go through your head. The sand is soft and if you walk down the area in front of the Copacabana hotel, there are hoses that run into the ocean to cool the sand for walking.
