The botanical gardens are a true oasis in very noisy Rio. A one-hour stroll will allow you to see all the key spots, but you could spend hours checking all the trees and flowers.

I know it is hard to leave the beach but a trip to the Botanical Gardens in Imperative. Very beautiful place, gorgeous landscape. They have restaurants there.

We spent a few hours walking around the Botanical Gardens. Take the top walkway where it's quiet and you're sure to come across the band of monkeys playing in the little stream and running across the path. We also saw some tiny little monkeys in a hollow tree - very cute. Loved the avenue of tall palm trees.

The botanical gardens in Rio are truly spectacular, with over 1,500 species of plants, orchids, and peculiar trees. Entrance rates are cheap (compared to the pao de acucar, for example), and include a free guided tour with a multilingual speaking guide in an electric vehicle. The restaurant near the entrance offers a very good selection of dishes for lunch. Great experience!

Very well-maintained oasis of beauty in an otherwise hectic city. This place is truly beautiful and full of life. The food in the cafe is pretty good, too. Watch out for the biggest spiders I've ever seen!

I'd highly recommend checking this place out!!
