“Outstanding view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

If you can plan to stay awhile. Sit down take in the view. You will never see anything like it. As with Corcovado,go in the afternoon. Many people allow the tour companies to rush them. When planning the trip let them know how long you want to be at the actual site, not how long you want to be on the line

“Great views !!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

While we did book a prepared day-trip via 'British Airways', (turned out to be 'Grey-Line), and, we do recognise that we could have done this independantly, perhaps slightly cheaper, but, convenience of course. This tour group did get priority access, and, a good amount of additional information about the city while we did pick-ups and, en-route.

The morning trip to Sugar-loaf was excellent, the weather was slighlty overcast, so the heat was not a challenge. That said, it continued to deterioate such that the afternoon trip up the cog railway to the 'Christ-the-redeemer' was somewhat dampened. In fact, we could see nothing at the top as the statue was totally shrouded in mist !! Quite a disapontment, but that was not the fault of the tour company.

Otherwise, 7/10, the information could have perhaps been better, a more detailed brochure or information pack perhaps,..... but still good value for money as it did include a reasonable lunch. (no drinks, no deserts or cofee!)

“Mountain with a beautiful view of Rio”

the Entrance to the site is fast and neat. Up two cable car stations and the view from the top is really nice.

“Take the Walk and Look for Monkeys!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

Go to this major sightseeing spot early in the morning on a weekday. It is a cable car ride with 2 stops. Really liked the shady trees, and the short paths to see the flora and the small monkeys in the forest. Great views of Rio and surrounding ocean!

“Stay for and after sunset”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

Go before sunset, plan to stay for the sunset and then for nightfall to see the city lights. Amazing. You can relax up there for a while. Credit cards accepted for tickets, but only cash for everything else. So bring enough especially if going to chill up there for a while to enjoy all the different views before during and after sunset.
