“BASIC HOTEL WITH ALL YOU NEED”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

Considering with price/quality/location we have choosen this propertx for our stay...It is a basic hotel with basic rooms, almost every room has a balcony and standard equipment.Everything clean, but remember, basic! But if you are travelling to Rio, you spent almost all day long at the beach or in the city, so it was not a problem. Breakfast buffet was basic as well, but they had great fruits and fresh juices. And its only 3mins to Copacabana on a safe street in the evening as well.Staff was really friendly, they found a room for our next last minute stay before travelling back.Definitely would come back again!

The hotel is located about 200 metres from Copacabana beach and around 100 metres from Nuestra senora of Copacabana Street which is where the underground station Cardial Arco Verde is. Next to the Metro station there is also a Pao de Azucar supermarket. There are plenty buses to go to the local attractions stopping just outside the hotel and in their way back their stops are in Nuestra senora de Copacabana Road.

The hotel was probably built in the 70’s and is dated, however is very clean and priced very reasonable for Rio de Janeiro standards. The staff at the reception is very helpful and they are always trying to help you with whatever matters to you. There is a free computer for guess to use in the lounge area limited to 15 minutes to give other guess the chance to use it.

The rooms are normal size, all with 24 inches flat screen TV, air conditioned and a fridge hanging from the wall. The furniture is dated but has to be of good quality to have had lasted all this time. The bathroom is on the small size and dated but all in all you get the feeling that is still a good value for money.

There is a small breakfast room that serves a selection of fresh fruits, cakes, breads and spreads, cereal, yogurt, a really delicious scrambled egg, ham, cheese and orange juice from concentrate. All these accompanied by coffee or tea.

Would I recommend this place? Definitely Yes because of its excellent location and the good staff that goes out of their way to accommodate your request. As I said is dated but I can live with that because is very clean and offers a good service.

Would I go back? Definitely yes. There are plenty options in Copacabana at a much higher price with lower standards than this hotel.

Room Tip: Try to get a room not overlooking the street. Rio is very noisey

Stayed at this hotel for two weeks in July of 2012. Truly basic comfort (A/C, fridge, TV), average sized room, very small bathroom, clean though and well maintained by housekeeping. Nice, helpful staff, although speaking English is a challenge for most of them. Very good, assorted breakfast each morning. Excellent location, a couple of blocks from Copacabana beach, the subway station (Cardeal Arcoverde), and a grocery store open 24hrs (Pao de Acucar). A couple of lively "bodegas" a block away... Overall, considering the pricing too, definitely good value for your dollar (by Rio standards! - once you'll visit you'll know what I mean). I would stay there again!

Room Tip: Try to get a room at a higher elevation/floor, that way the noise from the traffic on the busy adjoi...

Stayed here for two nights 29th / 30th January and found it very basic but given the cost comparison with other hotels in the area satisfied what I was looking for,
I arrived very late (midnight) after long flight on the 29th and first impressions of the surrounding area was a little bit daunting.
Quick check in and taken to the room which I found to be very small and not particularly appealing. (Room 732).
Room was clean and bed comfortable but my biggest complaint was the noise from the street and mini bar / fridge which was mounted on the wall (due to no room to put it elsewhere).
I was kept awake throughout the night due to the traffice from the main road and the contiuous clicking on and off of the fridge.
First morning the shower lacked hot water but was OK the second morning.
Breakfast was minimal but again satisfied what I was after. A couple of cereal selections, fruit, ham, cheese, bread with orange juice and very strong coffee.
Free WiFi was a bonus and staff accomodating with sufficient English spoken at reception.
Its location is a big plus along side the cost.
3 minutes walk to Copacabana which during the day light was not so daunting. Several bars in easy walking distance.

In conclusion, an acceptable, low budget hotel ideally located for a couple of nights stay.

The location is fabulous, close to the beach and public transportation. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are dated but clean. Traffic noise is a problem in lower rooms on the main ride, but less so on the side street. All in all, a good place to stay for business or exploring Rio.

Nice staff, good location for public transportation. Breakfast could be better. Clean, safe, good staff that was helpful. Not too expensive and a <5 minute walk from Copa beach. cabs were plentiful and not too expensive.

This hotel has the advantage of being 50 meters from the beach of Copacabana.
But it is too noisy. From 6 in the morning when the traffic on in Copacabana Avenue, you can not sleep anymore.
And it has a horrible decor. Too old.
Has the advantage of having a courteous and friendly personal. The breakfast is rich.
Cheap.
