“Expensive!”
Reviewed December 14, 2012

We booked really late our first place in Rio and we found just this hotel available closed to the beach. We stayed there just 3 night (luckly)!
The rooms are old, the bathroom dirty and all over smell of urine...Terrible!
The breakfast is really nice with lots of fruits, juices and cakes.
The hotel has a nice terrace with a small swimming pool but you can enjoy from there the view of Copacabana and the location is perfect, closed to the beach!

This hotel has a great location in Copacabana but that is the only good thing about it! The staff are not helpful, ie they would not phone to make a reservation at a restaurant for us when the restaurant only spoke Portugese and we don't know a word. The rooms were tiny and unkempt, they charge for everything additional including the room safe, baggage storage, wifi, towels, water. They tried to charge us for minibar items which we had not touched, generally all bad! NEVER STAY HERE

Room Tip: There are no good rooms here!

Great location, nowhere to park as expected.Wifi not working, unsightly view from room window at rear.Pool is small but then again it is a rooftop pool with limited space. And yes they did want to charge for everything as extra.Food ok nothing too choicefull. The safe deposit box was large enough for my fags which was a bonus.ps air con near window worked well....not..On the whole for the price we paid we were very satisfied.literally 2 minutes walk 50 yards over the road and paradise was waiting.

Room Tip: I was on the 15th floor with window facing christ hill,It was very quiet at night.

They charge for everything you can image, for safebox in the room, for leaving luggage at the reception after check out, for even a bottle of hot water(and they sent it to me after one hour I ask for it). The swimming pool is very small. The breakfast never changed and with limited supply.

When you enter the hotel the first thing is you have to sign a contract that you accept the business rules of the hotel (first time I faced such burocracy). Then you have tp pay upfront even a credit card deposit is not accpeted and very interesting when you check out they charge you again what they call tax. Then if you want to use the tiny room safe it costs you daily 3 USD and the chance the safe cannot be opend is high. Internet also costs extra and the top is if you want to leave the luggage because 12 noon is strict checkout time it costs you another 6 USD. The rooms are very simply furnitured and the chair in my room had to be replaced because it fell appart. The bathroom is very small and all over dirt on the walls and black fungi. The hanger are of simple iron wire. No idea why this hotel got the 4 stars that can only be bribing. The location cloose to Copacabana can never justify to use such a hotel.

Hotel is just a block away from the famous Copacabana beach. Hotel is a little old and needs some remodelling, staff is not friendly and wants money for everything they do, they even complain when the tip is not high enough. Air condition is very noisy, had a hard time to sleep. Parking is not so easy, since everywhere is no parking. Copacabana beach really disappointed me, its like any beach in Spain or Greece, Traffic in the evening to the airport is horrable, needed 3 hours to the airport Santos, almost missed the flight. Not pleased

terrible hotel in really bad condition; far overpriced any youth hostel is better than that; breakfast seems ok, but the service people don't smile; location is superb, but this hotel doesn't fit there, maybe a favela would be the appropriate location for such a thing.

Room Tip: Balkony rooms are loud and you can barerly see the beach and the yard rooms smell after the airinsta...
