First of all, it is a very expensive hotel and it really doesn´t worth the price. Old rooms, dirt air conditioning and I didn´t like the way they treated me.
For what they ask, I was surprised by a terrible experience!

Typical hotel that had its glory days, but has not been renovated or modernized and still labels itself as a four star. The rooms are cramped, with old furniture, noisy and dirty air conditioning (not split models!), poor cleaning, old carpet, slow and bureaucratic staff. During my stay, one of the two elevators was broken. Each elevator ride cost me an eternity. Do not stay in this hotel. In Rio all hotels are unreasonably expensive, so either you spend a little more and sleep in a decent location, or save and stays in a hotel downtown. In terms of quality, it will be hard to miss for the decaying and moldy Mirasol.

This hotel costed me a fortune and I don't think it was worth the price. It really needs a makeover.

Pros: Nice brakfast, nice rooftop, proximity to beach

Cons: Expensive, you need to pay for internet, you need to pay for using the room's safe (!, I know, it's ridiculous), old 70s decor, having been put in a smoking room and not being able to change rooms.

Room Tip: avoid rooms in lower floors, the noise from some machines they have is unbearable at night

We ended up staying at this hotel at the beginning of a four week travel around Brazil. We ended up in Rio two days earlier than planned due to air france strikes and as it was an extremely busy period in Rio this was the only available hotel which we booked on arrival in Rio! The location is pretty good as it is only a couple of blocks back from copacabana beach and is surrounded by plenty of bars, restaurants and shops etc. We were luckily upgraded to a superior room which was a good size and which also included a sauna in the bathroom although we never used this! Although the rooms could do with a little updating. The breakfast was very good as was the roof top pool. Although the hotel was pretty expensive for we enjoyed our short time there.

I thought it was great, short walk to the beach, rooftop pool and small gym, amazing breakfast with great selection of fruit. Close walk to subway and internet cafes right there. For the price it was wonderful

A nice and typical Copacabana hotel, behind the famous Copabacana Palace. Location is great, therefore, being two blocks from the beach and from many restaurants.

Good service – had urgently to have some clothes ironed at night and they did it right away.

The luxury room has a wooden sauna that felt great.

Unfortunately, I stayed exactly one week before Carnival and there was a parade (“bloco”) right in front of the hotel and it was amazingly loud, even at the highest floors (not much of a problem if you’re there for the party!).

As for the price, I must say it's not the cheapest - Copacabana is expensive compared to some other Rio neighbourhoods - but I found it fair.

Recommended.

I stayed at the Windsor next to the Copacabana Hotel for the first two nights and then moved here as it was half the price £100 and as good. The price probably reflects the fact it is 1 block back but as it is only about 60 metres from the Copa then the situation good. The roof pool was very small and with the split level sun areas it was clean, querky and more than adequate. The rooms were a bit more than adequate and I would recommend it to friends.
The two older gentlemen on reception gave it a feel of being on the Riviera.
