The place is ok. The food is ok. The surroundings is also ok. Back to back to the Copacabana Palace Hotel and much less expensive is very near to the famous Copacabana Beach. The bed is okay, the general facility is okay. THe best option for mid price hotels, three stars.

Room Tip: take the highest number like 11st floor

Every once in a while, you come across a hotel that has everything you need, like alarm clocks and irons and ironing boards in the room... that has wi-fi that works quickly and consistently without dropping you every few minutes... that has a restaurant where waiters notice that there is no silverware on the tables, or that your coffee cup is empty... unfortunately, this is not one of those hotels. I could understand the lack of the above amenities if I were staying at a youth hostel, but a business hotel in the second largest city in Brazil? Very disappointing stay.

Room Tip: Easy... find a different hotel!

Well organized hotel with friendly staff. The food excellent and the price is very reasonable.
Only problem is the language, English is for most of the staff still a problem.
If you are a smoker, the swimming pool on the top floor is a nice place.

This hotel is good if you are on business but I wouldn´t stay here for a holiday. It is located right in the centre of town on one of the busiest streets with easy access to the metro system.
The rooms at the front and side are good sized with great double glazing so you dont hear any of the traffic noise but the ones at the back are more basic and without double glazing. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The restaurant serves a standard buffet which doesn´t change and quite pricey for what it is, my tip is to eat elsewhere. Most people in the hotel are on business

I stayed here for a transit rather than spend 12 hours in the airport.

The tiny, clean but dated room had a queen size bed, luggage bench, table, chair, minibar fridge & closet. There were power points at the desk. The bed was comfortable with reasonable linen. Additional linen was provided in the closet, along with a safe. There were no fans & the window was unable to be opened. The worst thing about the room was the lack of ventilation and terrible air conditioning: it was a very old dial & no matter what you had it set to, only stale air blew around the room. It was cooler in the hallway!

The bathroom had a shower, toilet, bidet & sink. There was also a beauty mirror in the bathroom. The two bath towels, hand towels and bath mat are old and of poor quality. The water temperature and pressure were reasonable. Bath soap is provided.

At least wifi is provided free of charge with good reception in the room. I also had good mobile phone reception. Laundry is provided at a cost. I am sure room service was available and there was a restaurant in the lobby. There was no hotel guide. The rooftop pool was tiny, shallow and sad with no beach towels provided. A mini bar was provided with some small sealed cups of drinking water. Service was good - but I expect it has something to do with your ability to speak Spanish (which I can). Book your taxi inside the airport for safety, security & a set price (same at the hotel reception) – to & from the GIG aiport was 80 Brasialian Reals (approx $40US), which was 20-40 minutes depending on traffic.

I didn’t have time to do anything & was suffering travel sickness, so not sure exactly what is around, but the hotel is located in the city on one of the main avenues – so I know there are some stores/banks close by. Beware your personal security.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The room wasn’t comfortable and for the amount you pay, it sure isn’t worth it.

Stayed overnight here while in Rio fro business. The room was small, but clean and like other reviews have said, a bit dated. I was so tired at the time, I could have slept on a concrete bed, but the mattress was comfortable enough. Big, clean bathroom and fairly quiet. The front desk weren't the friendliest, but weren't hostile either....somewhere in between.
The pool on the roof is pretty nice and gives a good view of downtown. There is a market across the street where you can buy all sorts of junk and a metro station not far too that can take you to the beaches.
Not romantic by any means, but clean and comfortable. A decent place to stay while in the city on business.
