The Olinda Hotel is a very clean and nice hotel with rooms aiming directly to the Copacabana Beach. The rooms have been modernised and are nice looking, the bathrooms are old but VERY clean. The breakfast was the best we got on our whole Argentina & Rio trip. Furthermore, the staff is very helpful.
But there are two negative aspects I do want to post, maybe the hotel staff considers it:
1) While the rooms have been modernised, they did not exchange the floor carpets in the room. And unfortunately, those carpets do need to be exchanged.
2) Depending on the weather, our rooms sometimes smelled really moldy, especially after rain. We assume that this smell comes either from the carpet or the HVAC system (if turned off). The hotel should definately do something about it.
In summary, not everything was perfect, but we were still very satisfied with our choice.More
