We stayed again for just for one night at Copa, and we still love it!

The Annex is not renovated yet, but they upgraded us to a very nice suite.

When you arrive to the room, there are 2 packages of "Biscoito Globo" and a Mate...2 very traditional things for Cariocas.

Beach and pool service were excellent and breakfast with a lot of options...we loved it!

The gym is amazing...with a lot of equipment for any kind of exercise!

What a beautiful hotel. We had an ocean view room on the 3rd floor for 3 nights and had a really wonderful stay. The view, breakfast buffet and bathroom were the high points for me - but I can't decide in which order.

The hotel overlooks Copacabana and has part of the beach reserved for hotel guests - towels, chairs and umbrellas are available during the day and the staff will even watch your belongings while you swim or battle the waves - which my son wanted to do for hours!

The bathroom was huge with a shower to die for and a large bath which my son loved.

The breakfast buffet was delicious - I expected a wonderful selection but was amazed by the quality and freshness of everything, especially the pastries.

Hanging out and eating by the pool was pleasant and quiet - apart from one night when a large group of World Youth Day participants decided to have a pool party.

Everything was beautifully clean and there were always staff around who were constantly helping, cleaning and smiling.

The one thing that bugged me was that all of the electrical outlets in the rooms were the recessed type that wouldn't fit North American plugs. Other than that, it was perfect.

Room Tip: Ask for an ocean view room

We just finished an amazing 8 day stay at Copacabana Palace. We were immediately greeted with a warm reception from the porters and registration upon arriving from our overnight flight from NYC. Our room was located in the back annex and had high ceilings and spacious bathroom with a tub. It was an honor to be staying at a hotel where people regularly stop and take pictures of at all times of the day and night. The beach is right across the street with smooth sand and bring real as there are plenty of things to buy..watermelon..souvenirs..or even a foot massage! We took a walk along the shoreline and had a nice view of Sugarloaf and Cristo Redemptor. The hotel food management and staff attend to every detail and will gladly meet your requests. The pool provided serenity after a day at the beach or sightseeing. The waterfalls add ambiance. We highly recommend eating at Hotel Cipriani Restaurant. We even met the chef in person to extend our gratitude! The concierge staff is assisting and patient. We had wanted to do our own city sightseeing tour by taking the metro (which is very efficient) and concierge gave us a map of things to see and restaurants/markets to visit. If you go to Cristo Redemptor, bring real with you as they were only accepting cash on the day we went. Concierge arranged for me to have a private samba lesson at the hotel fitness studio which was seamless. We have everlasting memories of Rio that touched our hearts thanks to the brilliant staff at Copacabana Palace.

This was my second time here and first after their remodeling. Lobby and other public areas look beautiful and it keeps oozing charm with it's classical, posh feel. It would be pure perfection if it was located in Ipanema or Leblon.
I was upgraded to a huge suite when I checked-in - no ocean view, but still wonderful and very comfortable.
Service is excellent from beggining to end and they're more than happy to let you use their SPA facilities to freshen up after you check-out if you have a late flight at night. Their gym is also very good. You have 2 excellent restaurant options on site and breakfast has a huge variety of fresh and baked products.
Do not think you'll be laying by the pool all day long if you're there between April and October, because the sun is much lower and there's a lot of shadow from the building.

Room Tip: Ocean view makes the whole difference.

The location of the Copacabana Palace is definitely one of its best assets. The pool and the bar by the pool are very nice. However, lying by the pool one only gets sun around midday, as the buildings on three sides cast the area in shade the rest of the day. I have to say our rooms were nothing special, and neither were the bathrooms. We were only there for a short while, but as the best hotel in Rio I think this must be a position earned by historical importance and maybe not due to completely up to date objective standards.

I took my parents on one of the Exclusive journeys by Charming Destinations, were we got to stay at the top hotels through our whole 18 day trip to Brazil. Copacabana Palace was our first stop, and we were not disappointed! We loved the old fashioned feel of the hotel, an excellent location just across the beach of Copacabana, the nice hall with pictures of royalties who stayed here, the amazing pool, etc. We had an excellent feijoada (national Brazilian dish) one a Saturday afternoon at their restaurant by the pool, highly recommended. Overall, we loved everything about our stay here. It's expensive, but worth it, if you are on vacation and can afford it...

Room Tip: choose the one with a sea view. Expensive, but worth it!

i stayed there in june for 3 days and was surprised how bad actually a socalled leading hotel of the world could be in service . this would be a 3 star hotel in europe, by far not a 5 tar place, but obviously you have to lower your expectations (and bank account hahaha!) when you decide to stay in rio de janeiro.
the place from outside an eternal beauty, inside they got rid of all enchantment, not even the nice little souvenir shop remained. in rder to get some stuff please buy at the spa. the weekend i stayed was exactly when the confederation cup ended so it was crowded and the staff was even more listless than last time (thought this was impossible but yes :) . fortunately i didnt have to pay for the stay so it was fine with me.
the pool was crowded with little fat tourists lacking the slightest notion of elegance ,exhibiting their well-formed 400 pound curves. quite a thing whilst you are having a 200 us meal but just push the chair towards the other side :) . the lobby actually is the nicest thing. once in my 3892 plus tax room (or 1600us per night ,haha!) you are entering a time capsula . it looks like the set from golden girls or different strokes. at least no need to sleep to live a nightmare. small rooms, nice view. breakfast was very good ,just again masses of illustrious guests (i am being sarcastic!) and actually overpriced like the whole city.
the location is very nice , directly on avenida atlantica with its dated restaurants and overcharged rip off joints.
try to have some sushi or a drink instead in one of the beach quiosques, booths which are quite a find compared to pseudo italian restaurants that want to charge you 40 us for lasagne,or 30 for some listlessly made pizza.
would i come back to the hotel? any time my company decides to pay for it,yes. would i pay for it ? never ever :)
peninsula beverly hills prices for travelodge room appeal and even worse staff ? come on ...

Room Tip: choose a different city, or at least an oceanfront room :)
