Hotel was renovated and rooms are good. I stayed in one with good size, 1 queen bed and 1 single bed. Breakfast is very good, with lots of options. Location may be a down, as it is located in downtown which is very convenient, close to airport and subway, but not safe to walk at night and far from beach and good restaurants. Price for the room is excellent, compared with other hotels in Rio. Prices for soda and water in the room are overpriced - payed 2 dollars for a small bottle of water. overall, cost benefit ratio is good for a business trip.

The hotel is located in downtown, great location if you are going for business or pleasure. The domestic airport is only 5 minutes away ( the cab should cost about U$ 10) and the international airport is about 30 mins away ( U$ 25). There are plenty of public transportation, the bus stop and subway are just a block away, and you can be at the main attractions in 30min or less. The hotel offer a complementary breakfast, with great variety of fruits, cakes, breads, juices, yogurts, eggs, etc...
At the top of the building there a small pool, hot tub, bar, sauna, and gym. The views are beautiful and it was fun to relax and have drinks by the hot tub after sightseeing.
The rooms and bathrooms are on the small side and a little smelly. Overall is it a good place to stay if you don't want to pay for beach front hotel and still stay in a nice place.

I come for business to Rio a lot and the company makes us stay here andfir that the property is ok, it is like the IBIS chain really maybe better restaurants but the same feel in the rooms (small). but who cares... when you are there working.

Also, if u like running, go to the Marina da Gloria and you will have the whole bay at you feet and a 10K with the best views. It is safe during the day with cops on patrol all the time. Aside from the smell (coming people from Rio!!) one of the best runs I've done

It is conveniently located near the heart of downtown, lapa and metro. those are big ++ in a city this size with terrible traffic.

But if u a re looking for an opinion as a tourist, stay away. this part of downtown Rio is no place for a tourist. After hours, this area is no man's land, there are no cool places other than lapa which ia close but too dangerous to walk from here or back to the hotel.

This was a bit of luxury in Rio which was relatively affordable. We had been staying in guest houses for much of a long trip around South America so this was really lovely and very welcome. It was clean and well furnished with a lovely bathroom. We were a bit nervous about the area but it was fine. There was a massive spread at breakfast, although it was not all quality.

Room Tip: Higher up is away from traffic noise.

Good price, clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed, very accessible, and located in a safe environment. The room was small though. The toilet also small but ok. Not all hotel receptionists speak English but at least you'll find one who can. Very helpful staff once you are understood...lol! They are very nice and friendly there. Upon arrival, just as we stepped out of the taxi, the bellboy brought our luggages inside, with no questions asked. Very polite. He wasn't even expecting a tip for such good service...but we tipped him anyway. How can you not give something to somebody so nice.

Breakfast was great. Lots of choices and impossible to taste them all. Just by looking made me full already. The drinks were very exotic and believe me, very good!

Room Tip: Don't get the cheapest room, it's very small.
