An incredible night of music by renowned singer Ana Costa, full of dancing and caipirinhas! Not to be missed! And the rest of the street is fun to explore beforehand (antiques and other shops).

We went this past Wednesday night around 9PM. Crowded but we got the last main floor table. Limited menu, more like tapas - so we shared a mini pizza and some ice cream. This is a place to listen to local musicians and to dance the samba (which we did). I don't see why it is listed here in the Restaurant category. Most people were just drinking - beers and wines etc.

Loved the street it is on - where you can find real eating establishments. Rio Scenarium must be explored inch by inch - you must walk through the place and take it all in. Fascinating décor. Don't miss the umbrellas over the cashiers' section.

25 reale entrance fee on weekdays goes up higher on weekends (to 40 I think). Well worth the effort and expense to taxi here from the beaches. We stayed about 3 hours. No pressure to buy any drinks.

Rio Scenarium is a lively part of Lapa so plenty of options before and after.

The venue itself is a charming colonial three story building which has been done up and has some eclectic furniture inside. I think the stylist got it spot on.

The food was better than expected and the drinks were good.

The waiters were efficient and friendly.

There was live music through out the night but it really good good after 10pm.

I recommend and we will be going back

Hopefully you will not get too hyped up! But this place is the place to be on a Friday & Saturday night. Not only is the music incredible but the food is edible. I like the tapioca with cheese. They do great caipirinhas as well. The house is decorated with props from several tele novelas and films from Brazil, so a mini museum.
I really do recommend as well to book a table on the 1st floor and book in advance. If not get there before 8 as the queues are huge.

Heard of this place from our guide. It's an old 3 storey building with something different in each level.

We got there after 9 on a Saturday night and needed to queue for about 20 minutes. Arrive before 9 if possible. You need to show photo ID to get in. You are given a card and they record your food and drink on it. You pay for the 40 cover charge and your food and drinks at the end!

We wanted to sit & get food but it took ages to get a seat because it was so busy. Once we did the service and food were excellent. The chicken skewers is one of the nicest things I've ever eaten.

Make sure you walk around and see all of the cool decor from Brazillian soap operas. There's something different in every ccorner.
