My fiance, his friend, and I danced the night away in this multi-leveled samba dance club/restaurant/antiques story/bar in the heart of Lapa. The atmosphere is magical! We loved it!
Between awesome caiparinhas, we spoke with other Brazilian tourists in broken Portuguese and just had a jolly good time. Dress to impress, and work on your samba before entering!
PS. You will be given a 'passport' or 'bill' upon entering, onto which the barmen will indicate and tabulate your drinks and such. You need a piece of identity to enter, but I didn't have any on me and they let me in nevertheless. If you lose this sheet, you will have to pay a predetermined lump sum at the end.
