“Just for a snack and Mate if you are nearby”
Reviewed January 2, 2013 via mobile

This is not 'destination' food place. At some point, it shoot up in Tripadvisor rankings. It is just a place to stop by for a snack and a cup of Mate if you are in the small shopping centre where it is located, or even around Largo d. Marchado. Otherwise definitely not worth the journey. There is nothing wrong with the place or the staff. Snacks are ok....although they would be considered below standards in any city of the Middle East.

“Excellent for a quick snack when passing by Largo do Machado”
Reviewed November 28, 2012

My favorite Middle Eastern "fast-food" place in Rio. I call it fast food, because you can easily drop by and have a snack really quick, but it's in fact a restaurant with different Middle Eastern meals. I recommend having a cheese esfiha ("esfiha de queijo") with a glass of mate tea (we drink it cool in Rio and it combines with the esfihas). Stopping by Rotisseria Sirio Libanesa is highly recommended for those going to the Christ by metro+connecting bus (580). After dropping of the metro train at Largo do Machado Station, look for this this small commercial center called Galeria Condor, which is just across the street from the subway exit located at the square. The restaurant is located inside it. Then, after your meal, catch the 580 connecting bus which heads to Cosme Velho (the neighborhood where Corcovado Station is located). Cheers.

“An oasis in Largo do Machado subway station”
Reviewed November 23, 2012

Cariocas (people who live in Rio) love this place. Is hidden, popular, cheap and serves thousands of 'esfihas' and "kibes" (arab snacks). Try also one of the diferent juices from tropical to amazonian fruits. Most of them are made from fresh fruits from the market. I usually ask for a cupuaçu or acerola&orange. For the desert, i like to have a fresh "coalhada" (clotted milk) with honey. Mr Paulo and Mr Olavo are the ones in command and are loved by the customers.

“It is one of those places”
Reviewed August 5, 2012

I used to go there at least once a week with my colleagues from work. I still come back at least once a year, now that I live pretty far from Rio. I miss their food a lot: esfihas, kibes, kaftas, their cold tea, they are cheap and delicious. It is just beside Largo do Machado station.
