“Our worst meal in Brazil”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

I am mystified by the high ranking of this restaurant. The staff speak no English and make no effort to make you welcome. There is a cover charge, in addition to which they serve you bottled water without asking and charge you for that too. The steak was the toughest we were served anywhere in Brazil, in fact inedible. The pepper sauce tasted and smelled strongly of offal and was disgusting. The concept of waiters arriving throughout the meal with more and more side dishes may be novel but seems seriously flawed. You never know what's coming next and that's an odd way to eat a main course - almost as if they forgot to deliver your side order. From the food we left on our plates the staff must have realized something was wrong, but made no attempt to find out what. Without doubt this was the worst meal we ate during 3 weeks in Brazil.

“Regular”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

The side dishes are extraordinary, but the meet doesen't worth the price. A ask for a 400gr TBone and got a 150gr tops. Overall its realy expensive for a regular service and food.

“Truly fabulous meal in a simple but attractive setting”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

The restaurant is not large. The different meat dishes ordered by the 3 of us were all excellent, but what really elevated the experience was the quality and variety of the side dishes which regularly emerged from the kitchen (for all diners, you don't pre-order them). You simply say yes (usually!) or no (eventually!). We didn't manage deserts but they looked wonderful, too. Reasonably expensive, but this was real quality. We had an excellent Malbec from Chile, too. Very good service - attentive and friendly while respectful.

“Interesting concept and outstanding grilled meat”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

Great beef selections and even better wood burning preparation. Very tasty. In fact, you can get a sampler plate where you can get 3-4 different cuts.

The side dishes are served in a rodizio style where the waiters bring the different dishes and spoons out what you want...as often as you want...all included in the price.

The room is very attractive. A cross between a Brasserie and your Mom's eat-in kitchen. Airy with high ceilings and a rustic decorations.

Service was a little confused, especially when it came to choosing wine. The were out of the first three bottles we tried to order and the waiter was at a loss when we asked what he recommended. We actually had to go into the back room to choose a wine.

My only complaint is that the place is entirely too small. Seating is uncomfortable and the tables are too close to one another. NOISY as well. I will not be a frequent guest here because of this.

Was this helpful? Please let me know. Thanks.

“Delicious food and Great service!”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

My husband and I visit CT Bourcherie every now and then and we always enjoy our meals. I always order my lamb chops and my husband experiments with different kind of meat cuts. The best thing about this place are the rotating side dishes! There are plenty! And all of them are tasty and delicious - bursting with flavor. We also love the homemade chips and the breadcrumb farofa! Desserts are always a must as well for us here. We enjoy the Chocolate mousse and the Petit Gateau. Be sure to come early to grab a seat. When we head out for lunch, we always try to make it by 12.30 -12.45. By 1 pm, the restuarant is already full and the wait is long! This place is truly one of Rio's favorites!
