We had to wait about an hour before we could sit down at a small table, but once our dishes came, we forgot all about that.

The meat was wonderful and the veggies just kept on coming!

Definitely a must do

Nice place that feels more French than Brazilian. The twist I refer to in the title is that you order a nice piece of meat (bife de chorizo in my case) and then get the veggie side dishes rodizio style (they keep coming with different offering to try and they were almost all interesting and tasty).

I have reviewed CT before and always raved to others about the quality of food service and value for money on the executive lunch. We must have been there 15 times at least over the last 2 years and our favourite wine - Alfredo Roca rosé would always be put on ice as soon as we arrived. The last time was no different except that when the bill came it was considerably more than usual. It seems this particular wine had risen 20% in value whilst all other wines remained at the same price, but nothing was said to us. The result; we will now be transferring our affections to one of the inumerable other excellent restaurants down Rua Dias Ferreira. All they needed to do was to alert us to the price change so we could either agree or choose a different wine. For such a small thing they have completely lost our loyalty.

This place is pricey by Brazilian standards (about $30 per person) but once you go there you'll see there are multiple reasons why this makes sense. The entrees come with endless and perfectly prepared sides like the typical farofa, salads, beans, grilled veggies... And the meat here is just amazing. My faves: picanha and bife de chorizo. I think both are uniquely South American cuts, so please try them, they're amazing!

The lunch crowd is typical for Leblon, a mix of long business meetings, groups of friends, the sophisticated older set wandering in for a bite to eat. It gets crowded at CT during Brazilian lunch hour, which starts at around 2PM, so head there earlier if you don't want to wait.

I've never been here for dinner, but am sure it is equally wonderful. It's tucked into a side street of Leblon, and you can easily go for a stroll on the beach or a little bit of shopping before or after your meal.

Again, this is a little expensive for Brazil, I know. But it's kind of tough to find an in between in Rio. Restaurants are either very cheap and usually great (Jobi, for example) or very expensive and usually not that good at all, so CT is actually pretty unique. If you're looking for a wonderful meal and want to spend even more try out Olympe in the Jardin Botanico area from the same chef.
