it's an average restaurant, very well located on the Avenida Atlântica. There are some (not many) better options nearby.

One of many restaurants on the sidewalk of Avenida Atlantica, the main road running alongside Copacabana Beach. Maxim's has been here for years and years. Ideal for just drinks or a meal.

Had black beans soup to start - just R$8, followed by Medaillon de Maxim's (fillet steak with ham and cheese served with peas, heart of palm and chips R$49.90 - enough for 2 to share.

Good bottle of Chilean Santa Helena Cabernet Sauvignon reserve red wine R$46 (often more expensive in some beach restaurants). Good value. Service was courteous and efficient.

Although well located, right in front of copacabana beach, this restaurant is a bad experience. The waiters are unfriendly and the food looks and tastes like it was made by a reckless amateur, absolutely tasteless! Bad place to go!

We ate here on two of our 4 night's in Rio. The meals were good, but we need to make special mention of the paella, which was delicious! (One of the best we've ever had anywhere) The service was outstanding on both occasions and the caipirinhas were sweet and strong. Unfortunately we were let down by the rainy weather which dampened the atmosphere a little. We noticed that on a warmer night they opened the area up a bit more to make the most of their proximity to Copacabana Beach. Recommended.
