It's not a restaurant, nor a bar, maybe a deli, but definetly a must place in Rio.
Perfect place to a late breakfast on Sundays.
Go biking!

Went here after seeing the reviews!
An English menu which doesn't make much sense. Ordered the antipasti which was average.
Wasn't wow-ed at all!

Talho began decades ago as a butcher shop and has evolved into one of Rio's best bakery, sandwich/quick restaurant shop and delicatessen.

I have never, NEVER bought anything from them that was not exceptionally good. Once I had a problem with a cake I bought I when I complained, the manager simply got me a bigger, new one and apologized profusely. He simply thrashed the cake I had brought, without even checking if it was really bad or not. That is what service there is all about.

The bread is excellent too. The price is fair, it is not the cheapest place to buy or eat, but you are getting you money's worth.

The only downside is that it can be really crowded and you may wait, although if you seat inside, instead of outside, the wait is usually shorter. For a quick meal or a light meal of soups, juices, etc... Talho is always one of my first choices.

It is also one of the few places I know of in Rio (my hometown) where lines are exceptionally respected. The employees do not allow anyone to cut in line and they WILL call you on it if you try.

It's not a restaurant: it's most likely a bakery. The only problem is it's always full so you might have to wait a while to sit.

This bakery is a good place to grab a sandwich or have continental breakfast. Great freshly baked bread and nice cold cuts.
