The best thing about this hotel is its location. Right on the strip of copacabana beach, from my room I woke up to a view of it every morning which was idyllic.
Looking out the window to the other side I could also see Christ the redeemer - which was very impressive.
There are plenty of restaurants within arms reach as either beach huts or slightly more formal settings.
For shopping the walk to ipanema took about 30-40 mins, and a taxi to rio sul shopping centre (worth a visit if cool or rainy ) took 10. The shops surrounding the hotel are not that great but there is a hippie market in ipanema and a market at the far end if avenue atlantica. The hippie market is much bigger and better if you want a market.
The room itself was very adequate for our needs. The view was the best but the bed was very large and comfortable enough. It was always clean.
The tv had three English channels.
The breakfast was varied and very fresh and tasty.
My only criticism would be the pool which is essentially a glorified bath! Very small so can't do much swimming in it, but the pool bar and views from the roof amazing.
Very much recommended.
