We stayed in the bungalow where we had our own garden sanctuary surrounded by beautiful flowers and vines on the side of Corcovado.It was so peaceful, yet very close to all Rio has to offer. And of course we loved seeing the monkeys outside our window in the morning. Helena was a gracious host. We had fabulous breakfasts and came back for wonderful dinners, too. Our stay there was a sheer delight. We'll never forget this special place.

In the heart of Rio De Janeiro,Casa Caminho do Corcovado promises to all visitors a brilliant xenia that combines the marvelous beauty of landscape with the kindness of the owners!Helena and Diogo you are excellent!i ll be back in Rio and definetily i will stay again at your's hotel!The veranda with all this diversity of plants,the unending horizon and the view directly to the Christo Statue cannot be described with words!!!I think that its the best choice for someone that wants to travel in Rio and combine the best value for money option.Every one knows that the hotels in Rio are very very expensive.The point that the hotel is located also is one ot the lots plus.All the bus lines that are going to Copa Cabana,Leblon or to Ipanema have station few meters from the hotel.Taxi piazza is at the other side of the road.I suggest,Casa Caminho do Corcovado undoubtebly to all visitors that want something beyond the usual.When the night comes the lighted statue of Christo will keep you the most lovable company!i want also to give congratulations to the personnel of the hotel that gave all the best for a special and filling breakfast as well as keeping the rooms in a very clean and beautiful atmosphere!Congratulations and i hope to see you again as soon as possible!!!

We stayed at Casa Caminho do Corcovado for the best part of a week in November 2012. Helena was a fantastic host and really made us feel at home and very special indeed. Breakfast was sensational every day, without fail. The position on the hillside makes it a very peaceful retreat from the noise of Rio, the occasional walk up the hill was a good bit of exercise and certainly not a problem. When we left it was like saying goodbye to old friends.

We have nearly finished four months traveling though South America, staying at many places, Caminho is the best. Beautifully garden setting on the edge of the national park, monkeys to great you in the morning and plenty of bird life.
Great host, Helena is very helpful and Valeria prepares a stunning breakfast, she is a great cook and you would be doing yourself a favor by having her cook dinner for you. Its at the base of the train to Corcovado, bit of a walk up hill to the house but manageable, bus terminal to everywhere is close by. You won't be disapointed. RM

I can only echo the views of other reviewers. Our hosts could not have been more friendly and offered that service you can never get with a hotel.

Breakfast was really excellent. Fresh fruit and baked goodies.

So if you're wondering whether to book, my advice is to go ahead without hesitation unless (and we need to highlight what other people might mistakenly expect)
(1) you dislike steps as there is a good walk to the house not suitable for older travellers;
(2) you want a beach view (but the bus service is 2 minutes away and v good);
(3) you want to party all night as there is no key and you'll need to ring to get in; or
(4) you want all mod-cons (e.g there is no power shower but you'll get enough of these in hotels).

If you want a friendly welcome (pick up from airport and having your name known immediately), great advice, a wonderful location and repeat awesome breakfasts, then spend a few days with Helena and Diogo
