“Okay hotel if you are in Barra area”
Reviewed April 11, 2014 via mobile

For a short business trip to Rio I had some other hotels in consideration but they were overbooked, so I had to relook and from all my second best choices my choice was this one.

The hotel is located at the beach in Barra, one of the more business oriented areas. The beach is beautiful and many people from Rio says it's the best beach.

The rooms are okay, I had a balcony room with ocean view, the air condition is OK, double bed, mini bar, WiFi paid but working really good, small bathroom but all clean.

The breakfast is good, many fruits and international things to eat. The waiters were helpful and open eyed.

The outside pool and teraz area was under construction but it looked really nice.

Close by some restaurants, so I would surely go there again.

we were very pleased with this hotel stayed for 5 nights during carnival time.
the staff were all friendly and helpful. the room was lovely with view of both mountain and beach.
great variety of food for breakfast. free deck chairs and umbrella to use on the beach which is just across the road. easy to get bus to other parts of rio. overall had a great holiday.

The hotel is nice but nothing special. They are redoing the rooms and it looks much better so ask for a new room if possible.
It´s fairly clean, very close to one one of the maps streets in Jardim Oceanico where you can find many restaurants, cash machines and act.
There service is poor but some of the staff members are nice.
Fair enough for what you get...

Room Tip: Ask for a new room...

The location is marvellous, but the hotel is too old and it is currently under construction. It means noise from early morning. Breakfast is good, gym is bad, swimmingpool medium... Wifi signal too low and it is not included in the price of the room. But the worst thing that happened is that the flush didn´t work!!! During one night I had no flush in the bathroom...

Room Tip: Sea view from upper floor rooms are very nice and have less noise from the street

The hotel has just been remodeled (probably because of the World Cup visitors flow) and rooms are modern and comfortable (air conditioning still bugging though), but beyond that one can still feel the effects of bad management: terrible service (with employees mocking people who "lost their reservations for being late", for exemple) and awfully overpriced room internet access (US 25/night!!) and room service (US 5 for a bottle of water).

stayed for one week at the Hotel. my third stay at this property. since the last time, they renovated the high floors so that was nice. Only problem i had is that they are still in the process of renovation and you will hear the noise almost everyday, to bad the don't mention that on their website...
great pool for swimming. located in one of the best places in Barra. just need to cross the street and there is a great beach. the view from the balcony is amazing...
the staff is very friendly and helpful. also the breakfast is very good.
in two words: "Great Hotel"

The rooms are shabby, walls paper thin, unfriendly and completely useless staff. Everybody speaks only portuguese and are unfazed about their international clientele's struggles. The maid refused to give us a clean towel even when urging (ie. pointing) that the old one was on the floor since the night before. She flatly refused and walked away. The late check out means you pay them an extra night, no exceptions. Breakfast is included, with ample choices but, honestly, most of it was bad quality/not tasty (and I am not a fussy eater).
Stay here if you don't have a choice, otherwise, avoid. Oh, and the rate is everything but affordable...and you gotta love when they charge you for your entire stay upon check in.
Yikes.

Room Tip: Choose a room in a different hotel
