I had the best glass of chardonnay ever. Wish I could remember the brand. We ordered the cheese and meats plate for two. It was great! Tasty french breads came with it.

This restaurant has an "Amazonia" tasting menu that consists of approx. 12 courses of dishes prepared with ingredients unique to the Amazon. For all you foodies, don't miss this! Very interesting and everything was amazingly good.

The restaurant offers a 10-course tasting menu that is built on many unique Amazonian fruits, herbs, and fish, and adds up to a real firework of unusual flavors. The portions are well designed - we neither left hungry nor totally stuffed up, just exceedingly happy and satisfied. There is no wine pairing - but we were recommended one white and one red wine by the glass that harmonized very well with the unusual flavors. The menu is very well worth the price of R$ 295 and highly recommended! The location abvoe Copacabana beach is also very romantic and makes the experience even more special. (Only recommendation to the management would be to make sure that the bread - which still tasted excellent and was offered in a wide variety - is fresh and not rebaked to heat it up again, as it was the case with one walnut-raisin-role I had.)

We really enjoyed our meal at Le Pre Catelan. We started with the Trio of Foie Gras, which was excellent.

For the main course, we decided to be adventurous and tried the Robalo fish (which was translated on the menu as "Sea Bass" but which I'm fairly sure was actually something else, although quite what I couldn't say) with Banana, a combination which did not sound at all promising but which turned out to be inspired: utterly delicious.

Definitely worth visiting, especially if you are staying at the Sofitel.
