Description: For us, gastronomy is art de la cuisine and flavors, presentation, service and ambience are paramount. All this is taken into consideration to create a culinary concept where food is an essential ingredient for an unforgettable experience. The Le Pre Catelan restaurant has been named one of the top 10 hotel restaurants in the world by Hotel World magazine. Modern decor and views over Copacabana. Our menu changes every 2 weeks.

To celebrate a bunch of things we decided to go on The Pre Catalan at the Sofitel and we certainly didnt regret it.

We started with a nice Kir Royal and had some time to choose the menu. All of us chose the Amazonia menu which was a very good choice. 8 very delicous dishes with different ingridients from the Amazonia region. A very nice gourmet travel. My mother in law dont eat meat but that was no problem at all, and the chef made a special order for her, a very nice touch.

The wine selection is quite nice and we got a very nice white wine Chablis and an amazing Argentinian Malbec.

Service and food here is second to none and definitely one of the best places in Rio.You really feel welcome here, and we will certainly be back.

The food looks pretty on the plate, but the so called "creative" cooking is a nauseating combination of ingredients. The chef should use fresher ingredients (shrimp tasted old and spoiled.) Avoid this restaurant. Not gastronomic as they claim, not for true foodies as some guide books suggest.

This is place for food lovers. Rolland Villard is a master of cooking art. This is not an usual place. It's expensive, it's fancy, it's unforgettable. So, if you have to enjoy the best a city has to offer, you must spend your time (and money) at Le Pré!

Food very good. Service however was slow and orders got mixed up. Overall a good place if you have time to spare.

Mostly local produce used. Ambience good. All this come with a hefty price, though!
