I have been positively surprised by this restaurant, may be because I had the idea and the impression that all restaurants on Copacabana beach are just big tourist' traps... The food was good, the atmosphere was nice and the service was very friendly. The final bill was more than acceptable, especially for a restaurant located on Atlantic Avenue. Overall, a good restaurant for good value, but I need to admit that we have been recommended by a friend of the boss, which helped probably turning the things much easier... If you are wlaking on Copacabana, without having the time to seek for a restaurant in the surroundings, this is a very good option.

My family and I went there for New Year's Eve last December. It was just awful. The buffet was virtually all gone by the time we got there (there were supposed to be cold cuts and cheese, but they were mostly gone and not replaced). The food choices were poor, the quality of the food was questionable, the champagne was not high quality and not refilled often, there was an air conditioning unit dripping water on top of us, our table and our food but they could not move us because they had over-packed the restaurant, the bathroom was filthy by over-usage, and the service was horrible. Did I mention it was very expensive? Yeah, VERY expensive (over $200 per person for nothing at all basically). They overcrowd the place to make as much money as possible but they don't have the staff or the food and drinks to cover the volume. Just terrible. Would not go back during New Year's. As a regular restaurant it is pretty average. It's walking distance from the Othon though, so many people might find it a convenient place to go.

We just had dinner at Don Camillo. I'm an Italian food expert, and I can say this is not at all good Italian food. It's a very touristic place, bad food and expensive. Avoid!

We were very excited to try this restaurant because it was highly recommended in our travel guide as well as by our hotel. I was craving some risotto and was really happy to see that they were having a risotto festival special at that time. We ordered the White Truffle Risotto and the 4-Cheese Pizza, with a cheese and bread appetizer. The appetizer never did show up, but we didn't complain since we weren't charged for it in the end. When the entrees arrived, one of the "cheeses" on the pizza appeared to have come out of a tube of some sort and the mushrooms in the risotto must not have been washed properly as there was a definite "grit" texture to the dish. To top it all off, we got the impression that the waitstaff was not happy to have us there at all and we really couldn't wait to leave. It was definitely not worth the price, and we had a much better time having after-dinner drinks at the Lucky Clover Irish Pub next door. Save your money on this one.
