I went to Satryricon with the recommendation of a friend from Rio. It was not misleading. A bit expensive maybe, but worth. Great appetizers served without you ask for them. Good wine list and service. I had grilled swordfish and it was really really good. The palce has a certain traditional look of its own which I liked a lot...

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel concierge. At first, it looked like an expensive tourist trap. But: after dinner I have te reconsider: The food quality was top notch, it was the best food we had during our week stay in Rio.

What a waste of money. This is clearly a restaurant for the rich to be seen at. There is no substance behind the food. The couvert is embarrassing - we sent it back. Cold fish salads and some grilled vegetables. We ordered the giant platter of seafood - about half of the things were palatable. There was grit in the oysters and they had no flavour (and I love oysters! but we couldn't even eat more than one, the worst I've ever had!) The grilled scampi dish was delicious though.

All in all a huge waste of money and a night in Rio. Do not go no matter how many times your hotel concierge says it is the best. If you've ever eaten seafood anywhere else you will not agree.

after learning of the high zagat rating, we were very excited about to eat here. what we experienced was nothing short of mediocre food at prices that make no sense whatsoever. the appetizers are priced like main courses and the main courses are priced similar to staying one night at the Ritz Carlton. also, they serve you bread and some other mediocre fish when you sit down and don't tell you that its going to be on the check for $46 Reias despite the fact that you didn't order it. we ordered Red Snapper that was priced at about $100 Reias ($50 US) and honestly it was one of the most mediocre pieces of fish i've ever had. i'd value the dish at $12.95 and still wouldn't have been happy with it. we also had a 15 piece sushi and i was expecting some interesting pieces of fish. by interesting, i mean not simply tuna and salmon which is all the plate consisted of. all around this was just an evening we wanted to forget.

We went with friends to this restaurant, which was told to be one of the best of seafood in Rio de Janeiro. The service was decent, but not EXCEPCIONAL ... and didn´t worth the price we payed .
We were told by the waiter that we would have the best experience in seafood of our lifes, which wasnt the case AT ALL ...
