Besides being very challenging to find, this restaurant obviously capitalizes on its uniqueness (looks kind of like a tree house) and its view. But the food is so expensive, and you get so little for your money, that I don't recommend it for more than a drink at the end of a day of walking around Santa Teresa.

We were recommended this restaurant through a guidebook and through our hotel, and even watched some of the PR videos on their website. Overall, the food was very good -- there were a few interesting items (e.g. crab paws) that we hadn't had a chance to try before and were well prepared. However, one of the primary reasons we visited on a Saturday night was to try the feijoada which was profiled so prominently on the video. It was not served that night. The restaurant is in a tricky location so it was hard for our taxi to find it, but the view is worth it and the restaurant has a very unique decor. Service was spotty, but about par for the course from what we observed in Rio. Overall, it is a place worth visiting -- a good Rio experience that should not be missed.

My wife and I ate here one night last month while we were in Rio for a couple of days. We had a hard time finding a taxi that would take us ( from Copacabana Beach ). Apparently most of them don't want to fool around with the winding streets of Santa Theresa. Anyway, we had a very nice meal there. Heart of Palm was recommended to us and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our main course was fish, which we also enjoyed. The dining is on the side of a mountain/hill overlooking the city. It is very open and pleasant.
Actually, getting the reservation was a little difficult too. Make the effort.
Pricy and a little difficult to get to but worth it.

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel. Our hotellier remarked on it's outstanding views and when booking for us, insisted that they reserved a table with a good view. On arrival, we were warmly greeted by the staff and were impressed by the ambience of the restaurant. However, they apologised due to the fact that our table with a view was not yet available and suggested that we have our starters at another table at the back of the restaurant and to change tables for our main course. We agreed to this but unfortunately, they forgot to bring our starters and instead brought along our main courses. In view of this mistake, we decided to forego our starters and start on the main course. I had duck but it was so tough I had to leave most of it. After our main course, we asked to be moved to our table with a view for the desserts. Carrying our own glasses, we were taken down a flight of concrete steps to an area that resembled a building site. There were no other diners there and it became apparent that this was an area designed for smokers rather than for eating. A polythene sheet was taken off the table and some old iron garden chairs found for us. Our view of the city below was blocked by several smokers who were smoking just in front of us. When we complained, we were shown to a much better table upstairs though once again we had to carry our own drinks glasses up the steep concrete staircase. The dessert sounded good but ended up being frozen fruit that I suspect had just come out of the freezer.Overall, we felt that the price we were charged was excessive for a disappointing meal. As my moblile phone battery had gone dead I gave the waiter the telephone number of the cab firm we had used to get there and asked if they could call it for us. They told us they could not get a reply but would keep on trying. After an hour of waiting we gave up and decided to use one of their own cab links that charged 45 Reals as opposed to the 18 Reals that we were charged getting there. We did manage to negotiate a 5 Real reduction but still felt ripped off.
