“beautifully renovated historic area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2013

The historic area of paraty is beautiful. A gorgeous old Portugese fishing village. Really enjoyed all the colorful boats. You could tell a lot of work had been put into restoring these building. Although a little touristy, it was not in a tacky way. Most of the shops were really nice with high quality authentic food products, some art galleries etc. Lots of good restaurants and of course lots of places to get some brazilian drinks.

Just watch out on the cobbled streets - these are the biggest cobbles I have ever since and are very difficult to walk on (even when sober). But seriously ladies, lead the heals at home.

“nice atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2013

small houses painted in the brazilin naive style. the road is made of big stones which makes it hard to walk, so migth have been harder for the horses riding there. the whole area gives good feel of the 18 century place.

“A step back in time!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013 via mobile

Ok the cobbled streets are a struggle to walk on, but this historical centre is truly a delight to walk around. It's like you're stepping back in time. Everything is well kept. I felt I was in an European City.

“It's a workout walking the stone streets”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2013

Loved this place, it really is like stepping back in time. The roads(walk ways) are very rough and uneven, part of the charm. Not good if you aren't steady on your feet, but don't let that put you off

“Best place in Brazil to wonder around for days”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2013 via mobile

I love old historic towns with cobbled streets. We were there with the carnival celebrations and even with the partying the place felt safe and laid back. Wonder around and discover restaurants, shops and watch high tide enter the cobbled streets.
