very good room, quite spacious, generous breakfast, well located, super friendly staff, the swimming pool looked on the smallish size but the whole pool area was very pleasant.
one downside might be the bathroom which could have used a little bit of a ...decoration touch let's say!

We (my husband and I) stayed at this hotel for two nights. It is very well located (although Paraty itself is small so all central hotels aren't far apart) and is well kept. The communal areas, aswell as the bar, are nice with big sofas. However, at £160 (GBP) per night, the hotel is very expensive and the following points really let it down:
- breakfast is only served 7-8.30, which we felt was very early to stop serving.
- the bar closes before 10pm. On both nights of our stay we wanted to have a nightcap when we got back around this time but the bar was closed.
- no complimentary water in the rooms.
- very noisy as the walls are thin. The fridge in our room was also noisy.

Overall if this hotel had been less than £100 a night the review would have been better, but the price I would expect a much higher standard.

Dear sir. Thank you for evaluating the Pousada Porto Imperial. With regard to your observations, I clarify that our breakfast starts at 7:00 and closes at 10:30, and sometimes at 11:00. Therefore your complaint does not proceed. I see that the lady questioned the fact that the walls are thin, which resulted in noises, which is not common, because it is a house of 1804 where the walls are original and well structured. In relation to the bar, the same is closed at 22:00 in order to respect the rest hours of other guests. We offer daily a flavored water that is next to the reception, from 10am to 8pm. In the minibar yes, the water is charged, being a common procedure in all the country's hotels.

I hardly know where to begin-the little hotel is just wonderful-quaint rooms, close to shops, marvelous breakfast, courteous employees-staying there was total delight!
There are quite a few places to eat close by.

This is an excellent hotel, located just a few minutes from the main port of Paraty. The service is excellent — although there was a slight delay at check in (I had booked through a credit cards points program and they had trouble finding the reservation), they quickly fixed the problem. The room was small but well-appointed, and the staff were very friendly. We checked in around midday and they recommended an excellent restaurant for moqueqa nearby. We had booked a boat tour for that afternoon and the front desk even handed us beach towels as we were going out. On the second day it was raining in the morning and the hotel offered complimentary umbrellas.

There is a breakfast buffet on the main level from 7-10. It was fairly standard, but overall a good selection of food. Highly recommended!
