Perfectly placed, wonderful lobby and communal areas to sit around. nice touch, complimentary water was flavoured with pineapple...very helpful staff.Hotel in the throws of renovation which is needed...
Room was perfectly adecuate except no cupboard!!!! Only a couple of hangers on an open rail...no excuse really for this. Breakfast was alright by Brazilian standards and one night we stayed for a "caldo verde" dinner which was excellent and very well priced.
For some obscure reason, wine had to be purchased at the hotel wine boutique, which was closed ominously for "fumigation" the night we stayed in so we had to go to the local supermarket to get some for dinner!

Room Tip: Upstaires the rooms seemed larger.

The pousada is located in the very historic centre of Paraty- the location is really great, so are very nice the lobby and the lounge. What is quite negative are the rooms (ours were standard on the ground floor): small and with a very noisy a/c, with no view whatsoever (and no fresh air coming in). Staff kind and helpful, good breakfast. All in all, a good choice if just for a one-night stopover in town (and little luggage!)

Room Tip: Neither standard nor ground floor!

The Pousada was a little overpriced, the room was basic and a little worn although it was cleaned well. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Location was great. I would go back.

For a hotel based in a 200 year old building, this was a good hotel. The rooms may have been a bit small, and the wine policy odd ( you had to buy a bottle from the adjacent wine store then have the hotel serve it) but it was very friendly with good facilities. I would recommend that the beds be updated to be more comfortable.
