Excellent food in a fully laid back environment on the beach. It was definitely the best and very fresh ceviche we had (made of robalo fish) during our 8 days in Paraty and the same can be said about a plateful of small shrimps in shells (with some lemon juice and olive oil), which were just superb in their freshness and simplicity. Praia Grande with its two beaches and Sao Francisco are definitely worth a little hassle of getting out of Paraty (we took a bus).
P.S. The place is open only during day time, our flyer says from 10 AM till 5 PM. As an extra bonus the restaurant also has its own shower, so you can go and cool yourself down in the ocean between the coarses.

Very good food served in a tasty way. Highly recommended. The owners are devoted and have a clear idea that a meal doesn't need to be pretencious. Worth the trip.

This place was recommended by our resort owner. After a long trip to Paraty we wanted to get a quick bite to eat. This place was 5 minutes away from our resort. It's right on the beach so the views are gorgeous. It's a shame the place is shut for dinner otherwise we would have definitely been back! My partner and I don't speak Portuguese and couldn't translate the menu. Lucky for us one of the waitresses spoke English and explained all the dishes. The place specialises in seafood. I ordered the stuffed prawns which were stunning it came with a side of rice and manioc flour which I wasn't so keen on, but my partner loved. We had grilled fish with shrimp sauce which he loved. It was all nicely complemented with two fresh passion fruit caiprinhas made with cachaca made in paraty... Yum.

For good and very fresh seafood Quiosque Sao Francisco is the place to be. It's located in a small charming harbour, with nice views of the fishing boats that just hauled in your catch of the day. The beach in front though isn't that nice, so you best can take the path over the hill to the adjacent beach. The food by itself though is well worth the visit, especially the Lula (squid) and Ceviche are faboulous.

It was an absolutely perfect meal on the beach. We had some beautifully prepared seafood as we sat under a tree looking out onto the water.
