Ended up staying nearly a week here. Had the most amazing view of the bay from our balcony. Would definatley stay here again . Happy hour on the caipinhas was great. Very friendly staff who took us out partying one night ,

The hotel is about 10 to 13 minutes walk away from the main town of Abraao. To get there, if you have carry on luggage, you will need the assistance of a "carreteiro" (a guy with a cart).

Once we were installed, the room was very basic. And it costs costs about the same price as the much nicer hotels in town.

Staff is very unexperienced....they never changed our towels in 3 days. When we were about to leave, we asked if they could call a "carreteiro" for us to help us with our luggage and their answer was " We cannot make calls to cell phones". So don't expect any help from them. We had to go ourselves back to town to get the "carreteiro" and then back to the hotel to pick up the luggage.....and then, of course back to town again to take our boat. The place is very noisy and the loud music goes on until way after midnight.

As a hostel, it might be so so. But if you want to stay in your own private room, you are going to be much better off in the lovely hotels and pensions in the village of Abraao (and pay about the same amount).

Room Tip: Just stay away from this place !!!

The hotel is located in a nice part of the island but unfortunately it is kind of far away from Vila do Abraão which is the The largest village on the island. If you have big luggage be sure to have someone you can help you to carry with them since you will walk around 10mins in the sand. This "hotel" doesn't have this service, they don't even have soup to offer you, the air condition is available just for some hours. At night the place can be really loud since they organize a mini party every single night, so if you are looking for a peaceful place, this is not your option. The breakfast is really poor, just some water, juice and fruit. In general this was a bad experience, I can't wait to be back to Ilha Grande but next time I will stay in another hotel.

Room Tip: Stay here only if you don't have any other option... sometimes cheapness becomes expensive

The hostel is located in a spectacular area. The staff is friendly and helpful. I stayed only one night in order to dive the following day. The rooms are very tight and the doors and walls need repairing. The musty smell is strong. The breakfast is reasonable. When you arrive from the ferry to the hostel, you need walk a lot on the sand with your stuff or use a taxiboat, which is quite expensive.

Staff was excellent. We had problems with our reservation and they gave us a room with a balcony overlooking the water and offered us a free drink. It is small gestures like this that makes you overlook the bad and highlight the good.
That said, I have to be fair in rating the hostel. Anyone who has backpacked through Brazil will know that the quality of hostels is lacking- hostel owners invest in the common areas and skimp on the rooms and bathrooms. This is no different- the breakfast is good, the common areas comfortable and a stellar deck on the water, but the rooms could be cleaner and the bathrooms are alright- a bit moldy and because of the sand everyone tracks in, impossible to keep clean. Overall, in comparison to the rest of hostels in the country, it does rate above average.
On the island, you can't expect internet of any sort to work, so it is not just a che lagarto problem.
Thank you reception staff for making our stay pleasant.

Room Tip: If you request the balcony room with a water view- be aware you are also over the breakfast area/com...

I hated it! Noisy, poor quality rooms and bathrooms. Did their best to keep them clean. Music played til 1am, quietened down by 3am, NO soundproofing, Good service, fair breakfast, gorgeous deck perched over the sea. Extremely Expensive for what it is, same price as guest houses nearer the town in much better condition and better breakfasts (ended up moving after no sleep for 2 nights). Go here if you don't care about the state of the place and are hoping to meet people and party

Despite a very nice localization with a cute view on the sea, I do not recommend this hotel. The administration is disorganized. Both times I went there were some problems with booking: ex. I was awaken at 3 am by a man who was telling me that I was sleeping in his bed; when I asked for help on the reception desk, I was told that this is not their problem. Both times I found my rooms dirty and both times the hostel was very loud until late night. You can easily find a better place in Ilha Grande, for lower price, richer breakfast and better service.
