Tucked away a couple of minutes from the beach means this place is a little more peaceful, but lacking in people watching (if you enjoy that).

Between the 6 of us we ordered a range seafood and beef and all were well cooked and tasty. The wine was pretty good for the price too.

We had dinner at this restaurant twice - on our first night, and again on New Year's Eve hosted by our pousada. Both times the food was excellent and plentiful - particularly the shrimp in basil sauce, yum. However, avoid this restaurant on a hot evening. It is a couple of minutes walk from the beach and the air is very still making it almost unbearably hot with only one fan.

Dom Mario had a tough act to follow after our perfect dinner at Pe na areia the previous evening. We decided to come here as it received top reviews, especially for their salmon. I'm glad we tried it- was very delicious. I'm knocking off a star though as they served us some tastless toasted bread at the beginning and charged us for it even though we had never ordered it (I knew I should've have asked whether it was included in the price!). I despise this practice and despite it being somewhat prevalent in Brazil, doesn't make it right. So just be aware that they'll charge you for that bread that you probably won't eat much of anyway.

I came w/ my wife to dom mario with recommendation from Asalem hotel (in the island). We got free capieinias, which was the best that we tasted.
We ordered the 1st meat dish (all looked good so we chose the 1st) and it was really great.
