It was my first time in Brazil and I'm already planning my next vacations there !!!
Beautiful pousada, excellent view and people are so nice ! As it was a last hour planned trip (with my boyfriend) we didn't have the time to make an itinerary, but the crew at the pousada kindly recommended us a lot of things to do, we visited Cabo Frio, another incredible place, I can't believe those beaches, and the best was a boat trip through all the beaches of Buzios, AMOR DE VERAO, I'm missing being there, no worries, on a boat, cool music, we dived into the sea at every beach, we saw sea turtles, highly recommended!!!!

Not really a Pousada, more a luxury hotel in front of the ocean.

The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, staff is friendly and the concierge was very helpful, guiding us to the best beaches and restaurants.

Breakfast is good but will be better if the staff was smiling.

The small swimming pool is good to refresh and the adjoining terrace is the perfect place to admire the sun set.

We didn't tried the restaurants since Buzios has plenty of them.

Room Tip: Ask a room with a terrace

We stayed at the Casas Brancas Hotel from 31July to the 3 August 2012. When we were travelling from Rio to Buzio I thought why did we choose Buzio. We arrived at Casas Brancas and what a warm welcome by the staff at reception. We had should a great time at the Hotel and the Spa. Sitting on the deck and watching the sun set was amazing. The staff at the Hotel was the friendliest and most helpful people I ever met. The rooms were clean a good breakfast was served. I will most definately return for another relaxing holiday and stay at Casas Brancas.

Room Tip: Higher rooms are more quieter

We travelled from Rio, arrived tired , but what an uplifting place. We were greeted by Ricardo, whose badge said trainee, but he was very good. Check in was quick and easy and he showed us through the hotel to the restaraunt for a welcome drink. We stood there in awe at the views over Buzios. My tiredness soon went.He showed us our room(25)-Oh my god!!!!!-what a room, a view to die for, a terrace with 2 loungers. It was perfect for the daily sunset. The room was well furnished with calm colours and decor. The bed was huge. The hotel offers a first night dinner at the restaraunt at half price. This was very welcome and relaxing after travelling. You also get a free 15 minute spa treatment.
The next day we met the ,Sebastian. We met as a guest relations host but left as friends. Many reviews mention him. He is fantastic at enhancing your experience. He will check daily how you are getting on. He will make suggestions for restaraunts and tours.
I found the best thing was just talking and getting to know each other.
We had a daily breakfast. The choice was good and tasty, with no rush at all.
Each evening after dining in Buzios centre, we would return for a last drink or two at Cafe Atlantico. As its winter there, it was quite quiet for drinks. We had a lot of fun an chats with both Damien and Felicia? (a new argentian waitress). Both of these were fantastic hosts, providing great service and even better chats. This really finished off our days on a high note.
We booked a boat tour through Sebastian for a 3 hour trip on a fishing boat. There was just my wife and i. We travelled the bay and went snorkelling and swimming. We had fresh fruit , water and especially made caipirinhas. The boat was run by 2 girls ,the "driver" and Barbara.I had great discussions and great info from Barbara, who also has become a friend.
The hotel has a beach longe called Rocka , at Praia Brava. We went most days and could reserve beach beds there as guests of the hotel. This was a great place for the days.
What a great experience we had in our time in Buzios.

Beautiful location and a superb hotel with a personal welcome and a family feel. Our room had a private balcony where we enjoyed the sunset and the room was simple and elegant.
Don't miss lunch at ROCKA and a trip on a local boat around the bay. Sebastian the host spoke flawless English and organised everything for us. We just loved it and were sad to leave!

At first ,when planing our vacation, four days in Buzios would be too much. When we arrived the beauty of the location, the view and of course the hotel captured us immediately. We were in room 2 which had a porch with a lovely seating area over looking the bay, fishing boats, beautiful sunsets and all the wonderful rest. Definitely relaxed and stylish at the same time. Sebastian, the guest relations manager, easily deserves honorable mention for his great advise as well as his exuberant
Personality.
Be sure to visit Rocka,at Priah Brava. It,s a restaurant owned by CasaBrancas on a very beautiful beach. Fresh oysters ,white wine, bed lounge on the beach,a bit of heaven.

Room Tip: Ten minutes away by taxi be sure to go the restaurant Bar dos Pescadores in Manguinhos. Sebastian w...

Casas Brancas was just what the doctor ordered! It’s a heavenly oasis in the perfect location for a short leisurely stroll along the waterfront into the lovely laid back town of Buzios and its surrounding beaches. It is private with a very chilled out vibe yet stylish and glamorous which is what you would expect in Buzios.

The entrance on arrival is via a residential street and it is not until you walk through the reception and common areas of the villa that the stunning ocean views unfold. The large outside pool area of Casas Brancas is just like the pictures you see – completely uninterrupted views and the blue water, blue sky contrasting against the white yachts bobbing up and down in the water and islands in the distance is a view that I could stare out at all day. I really felt like I was in a world of understated luxury.

Breakfast in the morning was fantastic – excellent quality and variety of food, very relaxing, beautiful view. It was a lovely start to the day….

We definitely had “a room with a view”. It wasn’t a huge room but we didn’t need a big room. It was light, bright, airy and open and it maximised the water view and ocean breeze. Be sure to book an ocean view room! The villa is located across the road from the water so why not wake up every day looking out at that beautiful view!?! The fact that you could open the French doors made all the difference and is why I would recommend booking the ocean view rooms. It was just so relaxing .. watching all the locals walking their dogs along the walkway, seeing fisherman throwing the nets out for the local catch of seafood. And then all you had to do was walk down a few steps and then you were a part of it all. Oh this is the life….

Although the main entrance for visitors is on a lovely quiet residential street , there is an entrance/exit for residents with waterfront access enabling you to walk to the nearby beaches passing charming cafés and boutique shops in one direction or walk the 5mins into the Buzios main shopping/dining cobblestone streets. Buzios reminds me of a understated luxurious seaside village. You could tell that there was loads of $$$$$ here but what makes it appealing is that it is not immediately obvious. Buzios is supposedly where the rich and famous go to chill out whereas Rio was much more flamboyant, hectic and crazy and everyone wants to be noticed!!!

We really enjoyed Buzios and Casas Brancas was the perfect place to stay.

(BTW I cant remember exactly when we stayed here but this is a long overdue review!)

Room Tip: definately choose an ocean view room
