Buzios is a delightful destination and Casa Brancas is the icing on the cake. What a wonderful hotel - great location, fantastic service, excellent restaurant (The Deck), amazing view, and relaxing pool/lounging areas. The staff was A+! I toured around all the beaches and other locations and was very happy at the choice of hotels. The street noise can get a little much at times, but it is so convenient to the best shopping and eating. The bed and bathroom were more than spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious each morning overlooking the bay, watching the boats and ships come and go. I will definitely stay here on a repeat visit.

Room Tip: Room 12 was mine and I thought wonderfully located steps away from everything, yet private. Make sur...

We booked six nights in the hotel and enjoyed the stay. The service was great and the staff was very amicable. The room was nice, everything very clean.
The hotel offers a very good breakfast with champagne if you like. We preferred to have dinner at the hotel also which was excellent. They offered a variety of fish, meat and salats. All was delicious and in combination with the view over the bay it was unforgettable.
The hotel has a beach lounge on the other side of the peninsula just a 20 minutes walk from the hotel. A very good place to relax in a comfortable way. They serve drinks and food at the deck chairs or in the beach bar. We tried the shrimp salad which was very tasty.
We can recommend this charming hotel without any qualification.

Room Tip: Rooms averlokking the bay are the best.

Heaps of character, stylish and informal hotel.Lots of nooks to lie back, relax and take in the views of Buzios. Our room was simple and stylish like the hotel, beds were very hard. The bathroom was large plenty of counter space,a negative would be the actual bathroom suite was a little dated, the white toilet did not match the yellowing seat, but it did not spoil my holiday!!
Breakfast was beautifully presented on the terrace, good choice of fruit, pastries, juices plus cooked options. My boyfriend ordered a soft boiled egg - it came hard boiled, next day thought he would try again explain he wanted it soft...... It was raw, the white still uncooked!! A few additions to the lunch menu, some classics like a club sandwich would be good, the mini hamburgers were not at all good, over cooked with a very stron taste, why have them mini? Why not a proper burger?
The spa area was lovely, I had an hour massage, which was good, there was a spa area, chairs to relax etc,all very tastefully done.
The beaches are stunning, especially Cala Blancas where the hotel has a restaurant called Rocka, it was like being in Cornwall, dramatic landscape, comfy double sun beds perched on a grassy bank over looking the sea.Food was good, cocktails lovely.
I would recommend this hotel and sound I return to Buziosne day would certainly stay here.

A magical spot in Bouzios, wonderful service and great food. Our room overlooks the harbour and we have a terrace with stone hot tub. Takes a while to warm up so we have never managed to get in it whilst hot but as it is warm it is not a real problem. The strangest cupboard which looks so sleek but does not take the length of a man's jacket let alone a dress. However small prices to pay for such a wonderful place. Every room is different and quirky. We will be back.

It's difficult to fault Casas Brancas...so don't waste your time. Lay back, chill out, without much effort and just enjoy the experience.

Upon arriving on a grey, dull afternoon, after the spectacles of Manuas and of course Rio, we were filled with apprehension as to what Buzios was going to offer. This was short lived once we set foot in Casas Brancas.

From the well trained staff. Attentive, helpful and friendly. The rooms, ours a garden room with a window looking out to the sea, spacious and clean, welcoming after a day out at the beach or out on the town. To the attention to detail, the decor, ambient music and gardens, all carefully thought out to provide the most relaxing environment a hotel could possibly offer.

A return visit is a must.

I was owing a review for a long time already, I stayed in March 2011 and all the reservation process (directly with them) until the checkout was perfect.

I decided to go to Casas Brancas by reading the reviews here at TripAdvisor, the positive ones were a 100% bulls-eye. But I don't agree with some negative statements I read.

Ok, I've read some bashing comments on some details and I must say that either they were really out of luck or they were expecting a "Hotel" compared to other Hotels they must've visited previously In other countries/cities. Pousada is "Lodge" in Portuguese (not even a literal translation), and compared to many lodgdes in the nearby area, it was totally differentiated (as in "classy") from a regular lodge. Hence, don't complain if you don't understand the surrounding facilities available. Neither complain if you're a chubby oversize person who can't fit on a toilet and complains that it's not suitable.

Well, service was excellent, was there by the 3rd week of march 2011, and I had rain for the first 3 days. It wasn't even a disappointment, if you know Brazil, and specially the area, a sunny day can get scolding hot, and that's what you call "Tropical" . During the rainy days, you have a lounge where you can chill, listen to music, read, etc.. and since the breakfast area turns into a bar after breakfast time, you get all the attention needed, places to sit and chill, books you can take and read, and heck! go walk under the rain! It's a pleasure!

I went alone, because I really needed to get away from more than 8 years without any vacations, I used to live in Brazil, and the people, the food and their culture as well as their great way to see and live life is something I adore. I got a room with a double bed, with a small balcony towards the beach, great view (despite the cables and wires from the town), a good silent place, and as I told before, heat and moisture is not for everyone but the rooms also has an AC in the room (not noisy at all, didn't affect my sleep and I'm a light sleeper with several insomnia issues... I slept like a baby!) , providing all the comfort you need to have. The shower and their amenities is a small plus, those passion fruit (maracujá) products were excellent add-ons for a great long shower after long walks around buzios.

Breakfast was more than perfect, at least 2 types of natural juices (they have usually a local fruit one such as guava/babaco, etc..) different sorts of fruits, several types of breads, and on top of that, pastries which honestly, I couldn't get to taste a bit of them out of being full of so much variety.

People working there are quite concerned of your well-being, as well as very friendly and helpful. Sure, I have a plus, I speak Portuguese, hence communication was no issue, but they speak English and Spanish as well (as far as I could notice) and it was a great experience in those terms. I even had a small complication with my netbook socket and they were very helpful trying to find me and adaptor that suits their power sockets, unfortunately the hotel (not the hotel itself, the whole country) was changing the standard for sockets (having a ground) and it wasn't "revamped" yet, but I assume that today it's all good. The Bars, restaurants from the hotel were great atmosphere although I rather visited other places (i.e. Bar do David Excellent restaurant).

And then, the last two days I had sunny days (always remember that Buzios weather is a bit different from Rio) and I was even more enjoyable (and hot).

I dislike "tourist" vacations, besides as I stated before, I needed a place to chill and don't get bothered. Hence I was either on the hotel's deck (where you get service from the bar, getting drinks and juices) with a great view (really great) or just walking around town and the nearby beaches and having a chat with people from there. I ended having a blasting afternoon talking to a couple who sells hats nearby Orla Bardot, having coffee with them, sponge cake and laughing, a great time. The only minor issue is the pool which is tiny, but being objective: It was more than enough to refresh yourself, it's a nice place where it's located, and it's open all day which you can go for a dip during the night and check the great night view.

In summary it was all what I expected, prices are a bit high, but I was aware of it and Brazil nowadays is quite more expensive (I'm from Chile) than a long time before. Anyway it was 100% worth it. The only drag here is the long ride from Galeão to Buzios, you get tired, you miss good hours, if you take a cab be prepared to pay a lot of dough (near Us$350 but I managed to haggle a cheaper price appealing that I wasn't a "plain tourist" and it worked!) but be prepared to take a cab to the Bus station (Rodoviária) and then take a bus to Buzios, and then have a walk to your destination.

And once you get to a place like Casas Brancas, you would say "Totally worth it!"

Disclosure 1: People in Brazil are as nicer as you are, if you are cocky, arrogant and demeaning they won't feel comfortable with you, they'll keep a smile, but they won't be as they should be. And remember, respect the rules!! These are on their website as well when you arrive.

Disclosure 2: I can't have a better opinion from the people working at Casas Brancas, kudos for you (Parabéns) and keep the good job. They were asking me all the time how was my experience, since I arrived, during the days and till my checkout.

Paul Evans.

Ps. And if you don't get towels in the deck... Quem não chora, não mama!!! (the squeaky wheel gets the grease) remember that it's a boutique and relax place, they don't want to bother you all the time, they respect your privacy, resting and vacation time.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms that face the beach, great small balcony to see people pass, the ocean, the cruises an...
