Nice restaurants and a lot of good shops (overpriced). Don't wear high heels and BARGAIN when parking, they'll give you a discount if you say you'll find another place to park.

Want Brazil prices? This is not it - a charming yet very touristy main street here is packed full of clothes, souvenirs, etc...we went down there a few times, but it isn't an every day trip. Stay focused on the beaches and you can buy clothes less expensively elsewhere.

Many shopping opportunities - but quite expensive. Alternative for rainy afternoons that are apparently common in January

A great pedestrian street with lots of fancy shops and tasty stops. It seemed as if most of the brazilian designers had a store there as well as some yogurt and ice crea shops. The outdoor crepe restaurant is almost always busy and has a great menu pf crepes.
