Owner description: The Parque das Aves is an essential tour for visitors of Foz do Iguassu, located near the Cataratas do Iguassu, beside the Iguassu National Park. In the Parque das Aves you will experience a direct contact with more than 1320 birds from about 143 different species. There are 16.5 hectares of lush Atlantic Rainforest maintained to provide the best habitat for our animals. This is a tour like no other. It is an unique and unforgettable experience in which you will find amazing birds. Enter our immersion aviaries to feel the beat of wings from vibrant macaws and look into the eyes of a toucan. There is plenty to feel and enjoy - beauty is everywhere and that is what motivates us every day to work for the preservation of our fauna and flora. We take into our care birds that are no longer in condition to continue living in nature and keep them in an environment where they can live happily. You are an essential part of this project. All you need to do to help preserve it is to enter into the experience with all your senses.

“Get up close and personal with some of Brazils birdlife”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

This sanctuary is doing some really great work and deserves the support from tourists. You can walk through some of the bird cages and get very close up with toucans mootoo and macaws. Some of the birds are so used to humans that they don't fly away when you enter the enclosure in fact we were certain that some of them enjoyed posing for photographs!! The park is just across the road from the entrance to the Brazilian falls so you can add a visit very easily. My family could have spent a good part of the day here.

“Great park, not just birds”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

Very nice place, perfect combination with the Iguacu falls (only about 200 meters away). You can walk in some of the cages and come very close to tucans, parrots etc.

They have more than just birds, also some cute little monkeys, reptiles, butterflies (closed during our visit) and mosquitoes (you should use repellent when you visit the park!).

The park also has a small cafetaria with good prices

All by all, definitely worth a visit!

“A must see!”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

This place was quite of a surprise. It all started as a private collection of birds and now grew to a massive and beautiful attraction. There are numerous birds exhibits with species that range from little hummingbirds to huge macaws - most indigenous from the brazilian rain forest.

“Much better than I thought”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

I'm really glad we went here. It looks a bit cheesy from the outside but it is actually run by a non-profit organization that protects rare tropical birds. The exhibits are really well done and the park was much larger than I expected. They have these huge cages where you can walk around and see the birds flying all around you. There is also a nice little restaurant that is reasonably priced. There was a large gifts store with a wide assortment of keepsakes, etc. Unbelievably, they had what looked to be brand new and very clean restrooms. I would say you should allow at least a couple of hours to enjoy the park. Kids will love this place.
