Owner description: The Parque das Aves is an essential tour for visitors of Foz do Iguassu, located near the Cataratas do Iguassu, beside the Iguassu National Park. In the Parque das Aves you will experience a direct contact with more than 1320 birds from about 143 different species. There are 16.5 hectares of lush Atlantic Rainforest maintained to provide the best habitat for our animals. This is a tour like no other. It is an unique and unforgettable experience in which you will find amazing birds. Enter our immersion aviaries to feel the beat of wings from vibrant macaws and look into the eyes of a toucan. There is plenty to feel and enjoy - beauty is everywhere and that is what motivates us every day to work for the preservation of our fauna and flora. We take into our care birds that are no longer in condition to continue living in nature and keep them in an environment where they can live happily. You are an essential part of this project. All you need to do to help preserve it is to enter into the experience with all your senses.

Was pleasantly surprised when I visited this park, as I was not expecting to enjoy it. It is literally down the road from the entrance to Iguassu national park. It was beautifully lush and green, and I enjoyed coming up close to all the exotic birds like the toucans, macaws, peacocks and flamingoes and even hummingbirds. There was a brilliant enclosure where they had the biggest butterflies I had ever seen, fly over and sit on you.

It's right across the street from the entrance to Iguacu Park, so it's very convenient. You'll get to see lots of interesting and colourful birds, including Toucans, eagles, macaws, flamingos and many more. In some cases, you can get right up to them, or have your picture taken with a bird or snake.

It's a good park that's definitely worth a visit before going to see the falls.

The park is located very close to the entrance to the Parque Nacional do Iguaçu and during the visit you walk through trails in the middle of the forest. Some of the birds are in traditional "cages", but others are in big spaces where you can enter, being in close contact with macaws, toucans, parrots, hummingbirds etc.

If you go to Iguacu for the falls, take a trip round Parque das Aves, right by the entrance to the National Park. This is an independent effort at preservation and conservation of many species, some of whose habitat has been drastically reduced. Whatever your view of caged birds and animals this effort is trying to keep certain species from extinction, indeed the care and comfort of the birds is secondary to the accessibility of the visitors.
