“This Hotel understands service”

The staff at this hotel were just incredibly helpful, friendly, what a difference a smile makes, every singly staff member from the bell boy, to the housekeepers, to the front desk, had a smile for you and a "Bom Dia". Absolutely nothing was too much effort. The front desk very professional and organized, the tour desk also very knowledgable and helpful.
You really notice that this city depends upon tourism, and has responded accordingly, The Golden Tulip was a classic example of a city that is attuned to its customers.
Well done to all the staff at Golden Tulip.
Special thanks to the Taxi Drivers in Foz, they were ON TIME, clean cars, good drivers, and also very helpful with tips and suggestions.
Having said this, the hotel needs to increase its maintenance budget; rooms need a bit of makeover, and some fresh paint would help in a few places.
Great swimming pool, good gym as well, breakfast was quite good, but needs a little bit of variety day-to-day.
So to some up....
Dear Mr Management, the staff at your hotel a doing a great job, the overall experience from a customer service perspective was excellent, but it is time to spend a few $$ on spruicing up the hotel amenities and rooms.

Nice hotel, in the center of a very unattractive town. The only reason to be here is to go visit the Iguasu falls, which are worth every effort!

Firstly other then the Falls, there is nothing else to do in Foz...

The room was clean and they made an effort to decorate the room as we were on our honeymoon. Nice Touch.

The room had all the basics needed and was good. We had an issue with the internet and this was resolved with the Hotel giving us access to a sperate wireless connection. Good Service!

The views from the restaurant are fantastic however the food was not the best. One of the worst meals we had during our stay in Brazil.

Other then that, can't fault the place.

A tall, cylindrical building in the downtown, the former Internacional Foz and Mercure is another outdated hotel acquired by the Golden Tulip chain without any serious improvements. The rooms are clean and the main aspects (good bed, aircon getting the job done, a nice shower) are in good shape, but in huge need of a refurbishment. Overall, it’s not dilapidated, just ordinarily maintained. All the rooms have a nice city view (not a special town, anyway). You’ll get 1980's smell and granite everywhere, a quasi friendly staff, breakfast just average for Brazilian standards. Due to reasonable prices compared to other hotels in Foz do Iguacu and the good location, the hotel is frequently full to capacity. At the mediocre check-out, a couple of tries to charge me for some drinks (I didn't even open the fridge!). The soundproofing is awful, and most of the rooms are connected for families, getting the noise worse. Outside, a nice pool; at the top floor, a beautiful (and expensive) restaurant. In my room, a lot of minor troubles: a bulb was out, no outlets for notebooks (and the reception was short of adaptors), “intense” noises from the connected room, and so on. However, dozens of hotels in Foz are even worse in all these aspects, so, comparatively, the Golden Tulip becomes a good option. Not a bad hotel at all, but not worth of a recommendation. Next time in Foz I will look for a better hotel, maybe one of the suburban resorts (they all have good business-oriented infrastructures since the city is a popular convention venue).

Room Tip: Get the higher floors (noisy streets)

We spend 3 nights in Golden Tulip Hotel and the location is good, in the downtown with a 24hs Bakery nearby. Breakfast is complete. The Room is spacious, the air condition is a bit noisy and the shower is not so good ( can't adjust the water temperature). The Free Internet Wireless doesn't work properly, the connection was interruped several times. A refurbishing would be nice in this hotel. Price: R$260.00 per night

The hotel is new a addition to the Golden Tulip chain, you may find it on maps as "Hotel International Foz". With the brand change seemingly there was a renovation as well, and although there are sign of being in an old building (liek the windows) the overall hotel atmosphere is good (although my wife did not like the colours on the wall).

The food in the morning is OK with a good variety just provides enough ammunition for the day to visit the Falls (or for your meetings if you are unlucky and go to Foz for business)

The hotel has a rooftop restaurant, which claims to have the best views of the town - we haven't tried this though.

The pool is excellent, provides you a great relaxation after the tiring day walking around the falls.

If you are in town only for one night and the falls consider staying in a hotel outside town it is halfway to the falls. If you want to spend 2-3 nights this hotel has a good cetnral location.

If you are looking for a good hotel in Foz, this is good enough. Average in everything you get your job done if you need to stay there for business and you get to enjoy a nice pool.
