If you want to get really close to the falls and are not afraid to get wet, this is for you. The ride is exciting, speeeding along the river around rapids and past some of the more spectacular falls - and right into a couple of them, so you are well advised to dress (or undress) accordingly: you will get completely, but completely, soaked. The tour operator offers safety lockers, so put not only your valuables there but also your camera (unless it's waterproof), shoes, shirts, pants (bathing suits and flip-flops work best). The guide will take photos and video during the ride so you'll have mementos even if you don't take pictures yourself. A great experience, wonderfully complementing the views of the falls you get when walking along the river banks a couple hundred yards above.

Ask them if you can take boat ride only, and nothing else - the rest is realy annoying way of time-wasting. Insist that you want to go in and out, no "botanical garden" and "legend telling" neverending stories in three languages (unless you wanna hear them). It should take you half an hour, instead two and a half!

The best, best part of this excursion is the actual speedboat ride up to the falls. You get soaked to the bone, but it is a lot of fun. The down side is that you do not go under the falls or get a full view of the falls, so this ride as beautiful and wet as it is, is not a substitute for walking the trails on the Brazilian or Argentine sides of the falls. Also the "safari' portion of the title is not a safari at all, but a tram trip to a reception area with a little nature narration thrown in, and/or a walk through the forest (which I elected not to take). Our guide spoke fair English and rattled off some facts which he seemed not to really understand, but this is a short ride and did not detract from the overall experience. What DID present a problem was the not helpful suggestion that we leave our sneakers in the lockers so they would not get wet. The staff should have suggested we wear or buy flip flops. Here is why...there is a very long flight of stairs down to the river. Our excursion was late in the afternoon on a very hot, hot day. The stairs were boiling and terrible on bare feet. Also the metal railing hand stands were so hot that when I inadvertently placed my hand on it, I actually burned my hand; my skin blistered.! Of course, the water cooled it off, and the setting sun cooled the steps so going back up was not a problem. But, I did wear a bandage for a week, and I can't believe the staff is not aware of these issues. By all means enjoy the ride, but come prepared!

after boarding a small train we were driven through the jungle not a safari just a trip to the river to get to the craft we all loved it we were at the rear or the craft and were soaked to the skin as we were reversed into the falls. We were advised to remove or footwear as they get wet,but there are a lot of steps to go down and 1 of our party later discovered a cut in his foot which later became infected take your toe pokes (they do have lockers to put your things in cost 5r non refunded. also you see some of the river birds only seen from river

Just a very expensive boat ride with no explanation at all. Also, doesn't get close to the real falls. Just get down small falls you can find anywhere in the world. If you don't bring clothes and towel, you can buy them at price of gold. 45 reais a towel, 5 reais a locker that should be included in the price... You can see it from the main waterfalls walkways. Take a look first and then decide if you wanna spend 170 reais o that.
