I can't recommend this hostel enough. The location is amazing, in the National Park with an outdoor bar, kitchen and a pool. The breakfast was good too, bread cheese, ham, juice, coffee, fruit, perfect.
At night we sat out playing music videos on a big screen and having a beer, including the families in the hostel. In the mornings animals from the park sneak in, little guinea pigs, monkeys and birds. We saw foxes at night.
It is walking distance to the falls too.
The staff were warm, welcoming and super friendly!! Thanks guys
We stayed in a dorm with private bathrooms one for boys one for girls.
TIP if you're coming from the bus terminal ( u have to get two buses) get some food shopping as there is nothing around when you get to the hostel.
A great great place

I've just spent 5 nights at Iguassu Eco Hostel and I really liked my stay over there.

As a good point, the location is very good, since it is just around the entrance of the brazilian side of Iguaçu Falls and less than 30 minutes walking from the airport (or 5 minutes by bus, there is no need to take a cab for such a short distance), all you have to do is walk on a small road just in front of the Bird's park (might be very dark at night, but it is really a calm location, so there is no need to worry about walking in the dark).

The staff was pretty helpful and kind to me, and i really enjoyed having breakfast while seeing monkeys and coatis walking around the property.

Regarding the rooms, i have a mixed feeling about it, because i thought it was actually comfortable to sleep in the hostel's beds, even with very very cranky doors (seriously, a person that wakes up easily during its sleep will have some issues to get a good sleep here). And the bathrooms were just a bit smelly, but not all the time, so maybe it depended on how often they were cleaned.

The location was good for me that wanted to stay in a very quiet place far away from the city, but if you like to go out every night to have dinner or go drinking somewhere, it will probably be a pain for you to take the bus every single time... you'll wait at the bust stop for around 20 minutes then stay another 40 minutes at the bus to arrive downtown. So if you'd rather to stay at the hostel during the night, it's advisable to stop by a supermarket (there is one a block away from the bus station) and pack some food and beverage for yourself

Overall, cheap and well located place, with very nice backpackers from all around the world. I'd recommend it to everyone.

Our group arrived quite late at night and to be honest the staff didn't make us feel very welcome. We were also not given the room that we'd booked and had to enter into a period of negotiation to get an extra bed dragged into the smaller room so that we wouldn't have to split up. The room wasn't terribly clean either and I found my bed quite uncomfortable. The only plus points were that the grounds were pleasant and the hostel was also within walking distance of the falls.

the probably best located hotel in iguazu (outside the park itself). you can walk to the park entrance (5-10min). beside a pool, a nice bar and in general good facilities the service is also very friendly although sometimes a little chaotic..

to be honest, after having seen the city and the park i would say, this is the best place to stay in iguazu (also in cost benefit terms).

the best would be actually the location within the rain forest. but there is also the downside: the helicopters starting every 10min (during the day) for the tourist flights over the waterfalls don't give you really the total 'idyllic scene' feeling...

but still: great place to stay in iguazu!

We chose to stay at this hostel as we needed only one nights accomodation in a location that was convenient to the airport. This was the only night that we stayed in a hostel on our south American trip, the rest was 4-5* hotels however we have stayed in hostels around the world previously so do have some point of reference. I will try to be as fair as possible in this review.
The location of the hostel is well placed a short walk (8-10 min) from the entrance to the national park and a short 5 min drive from the airport. However you do have to walk/drive down a long driveway which is poorly lit in the dark and may be uncomfortable for single females. It is a very long way from the town of foz du iguacu though and there arent dining options in the area so we had the hotel meal which was pretty awful. The staff were helpful enough and i cannot complain given it was a hostel.
The rooms were unfortunately not very clean, there was an awful musty smell, the windows were filthy, the bed sheets were old and bobbling and kept coming off the bed so we basically ended up sleeping directly on the mattress which was pretty gross. The windows were left open by the cleaners with no fly screens, so the room was full of insects which is a concern given iguassu falls had a yellow fever case in the past few years.
I fell quite sick with a sinus infection which lasted for over a week immediately after our stay at this hostel. I believe this was due to the air conditioner in our room blowing directly on my face and was probably not clean (dust/mould) given the cleanliness of the rest of the room...
Given the price of this place (about 150 real) I would have expected a bit better. If we were in the same situation again I would pay double and stay somewhere cleaner and healthier!

I think our stay would have warranted a better rating if we'd stayed in a different room or had better communication from the staff. The property is well-located and you can visit the falls with just a short walk. The main building and pool area are quite nice and well-kept, and the bar area is stocked with cold drinks. When we checked in, we were shown to a lovely room in the main building. But a few hours later, we were asked if we could move to a different room in an outbuilding. Wanting to be polite, we agreed, although it was an inconvenience to re-pack and move. The second room was not nearly as nice, the air conditioner didn't work very well and there was no internet signal - a problem for us as we both needed to work and WiFi was one of the reasons we'd selected this hostel. After spending an uncomfortable night there, we asked if we could move back to the previous room, which had remained empty, or to another room. We were told no, that nothing else was available. Yet the majority of the property remained empty during our stay, so that seemed really strange. I can only assume we'd been moved because we have a dog (and we made sure to confirm that she was welcome before arriving). If so, no problem, but that explanation would have helped us understand the situation instead of just telling us that nothing else is available when we can see other rooms are open. And when another couple did arrive, we noticed them getting a full tour of the property, and we overheard details we'd never been informed of, such as the kitchen being for communal use. An initial tour and info like that would have been great to know earlier. So overall it was kind of odd, we just didn't feel very welcome. But I do think the property's great and had a ton of potential for being a better experience!

Room Tip: The best room is in the main building, with doors that open onto the terrace. Ask for it!
