A genuinely stunning hotel set in one of the best locations in the entire world. The rooms were lovely and the service impeccable. Both restaurants were of good quality and the gym was of a decent size. Overall just fantastic and made by the views from the rooms. The access at all hours to the park is also fantastic.

This hotel is located within the National Park. It is located within a two minute walk from Iguacu falls. It is well worth the extra money to stay at this hotel as you can go and walk around the falls when all the visitors have left at 5pm or before they arrive at 9.30am. You can sit and have a drink at the front of the hotel while watching and listening to the falls. Rooms are clean and the staff are very welcoming. The food is good. Food is expensive as you would expect within a hotel. There is not a large choice on the menu. The hotel is the only place to eat within the area so you are limited to choice apart from during the daytime when you can walk down towards the falls and eat in the restaurant down there. It is a self service buffet and cost around £8 per person. Very nice views of the falls and good food. We went down around 3pm and had a late lunch / early tea so we would only need snack at teatime.

Room Tip: Would not bother paying for a room with a view.

We stayed here for two nights and we weren't disappointed! the hotel is situated right by the Brazilian side of the falls within the national park and it's an easy walk to a great view and the network of paths on the Brazilian side. We stayed in a room with a garden view - the rooms aren't huge but they are clean and comfortable with complementary flip flops and nice products for the bathroom. I'm vegetarian and cannot eat gluten so I was a bit apprehensive about the food especially as there is nowhere else local to eat - the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The chef took me round the buffet on both evenings pointing out which foods I could eat and there was plenty. The buffet is slightly cheaper for vegetarians although it is still rather pricey. The public areas are all very well maintained with a gorgeous pool, and games including a large chessboard, trampolines and a pool table. On our last morning we were happy to spot toucans right outside the hotel and I managed to get a great photo.

If you are going to visit Iguazu Falls, come to the Brazilian side and stay at the Belmond. Best thing about Belmond is their in house tour agency called Iguassu Experiences. We pre-booked 5 different transfers and tours with them and were very pleased with what they provided. Their tri-lingual associate CARLOs was with us each of the 4 days we were in Brazil. He picked us up at the Argentinian airport and took us back at the end of our stay, expertly guiding us through all immigration and customs requirements. In between he gave us extensive private tours of both the Brazilian and Argentinian sides of this incredible natural spectacle, as well as driving us to/from nearby Bird Park where we enjoyed the outstanding Backstage experience. Carlos is a fine young man, very professional and very knowledgeable about the entire area. I highly recommend him to anyone who truly wants to experience the best Iguassu has to offer.

Room Tip: Open your wallet.

We have just spent 2 nights at the Belmond. The location is amazing and this is the only hotel within the National Park. We had booked the lowest type of room and were surprised that we had a reasonable falls view. The room wasn’t huge but was nicely decorated and the bathroom was lovely. Perhaps a bit of thinking needs to go into the hallway design, where if you open the door to the cubicle where the safe and fridge is, then no one else can get past. (A sliding door would be more practical)
As one would expect from a hotel with this reputation, the facilites are wonderful. Breakfast is particularly good; it was lovely to sit beside the pool for breakfast although a coatis did jump on the table and steal my croissant. We had the buffet for dinner one night which we thought, although pleasant, was very overpriced and the other night we just had bar food which we thought was quite reasonable.
Every member of the staff, from reception to housekeeping to the bar staff, were all polite and very professional. The only problem we had was that the internet in the business centre would not work, making it impossible for us to print out boarding passes for our onward journey.
Of course the falls are the main attraction and it is lovely that, by staying here, you are free to visit the falls as much as you like. There was a beautiful sunset on one of the nights we were there.
This hotel was quite a splurge for us but we had a lovely stay.
