Beautiful hotel in perfect location. Very attentive staff. Food was good but not up to the same standard of every thing else. We went on the boat trip which was fantastic fun and then after relaxing by the beautiful pool, wandered along the spectacular falls trail

Wonderfull hotel, the views to the falls are an extra benefit. Pool area luxurious and staff very helpfull and well trained. Expensive, of course, but a very nice experience. Rooms called superior rather small.

If the idea of staying within a few hundred yards of a the widest waterfalls in the world and on the edge of a South American jungle is appealing, add this to your bucket list.

The hotel is dripping in '30's charm and warmth. The grounds are true to the setting.

The woodwork is remarkable and the rambling layout of the hotel doesn't stack it all on top of itself.

The food was good, not great. The service is friendly and responsive.

It takes a while to get there from anywhere so give yourself a few days to soak in the ambience.

If you are going to the Brazilian side of the falls, you have to stay at this hotel and here is why

1- The hotel is in the national park so your are right next to the falls
2- You can go down to the falls and devil's throat after the park closes and you can have the falls all to yourself which is absolutely amazing - during the day both the Brazilian and Argentinian side of the falls is full of visitors and it is extremely busy, staying at the hotel, you are still there when the crowds have departed. Its worth every penny to stay here just for that experience
3- The pool area is fantastic and the hotel has a resort feel to it
4- The breakfast was amazing served by the pool side
5- If you get wet by the falls, do not worry, they dry your clothes for free

I absolutely loved this hotel and wish we had stayed an extra day to enjoy the pool and relax there.

Just keep in mind you have to eat in the hotel but the restaurant within the hotel is very nice and the quality of food is very good. Also, as the hotel is in the park, taxies can only take you to the gate and from there you have to take the hotel's shuttle bus which runs every 20mins.

We stayed two nights in late January. The location can't be beat. The pool is wonderful as is the poolside service. All of the service from check-in through check-out was impeccable. Buffet breakfast was great. Buffet dinner was good.

The accommodation, food, and coffee were excellent. It is an ideal location to visit the Argentinian and Brazilian sides of these amazing falls, and the various sports that are associated with the falls - the falls were running high at the the time of our visit, and it was truly a spectacular sight. The staff were very helpful. It is the best location for the Iguaza Falls, with the bonus that it is within the National Park - so you get the Falls to yourself after 6pm closing time!

I stayed at Cataratas on a weekend during a business trip in their off season. Everything was eerily quiet. I was traveling alone, so that's good and bad. Good because I had the place to myself. Bad for the same reason. I really like the property. The Superior Room I had was pretty small and somewhat ordinary, on a ground floor location facing the gorge. There was not much of a view from the room itself, but the sound of the falls from the open window is powerful. The gorge is literally only 50 feet away from the front of the hotel, so it's easy to access the trail that takes you down to the main falls, about a mile away. Absolutely awesome in its power. The location is everything, and the fact that you're inside the park when it closes means you have access to the falls by moonlight when the bulk of the tourists have gone. Incredible. I did some excursions while there. Mountain biked with one of the hotel guides (we had a VERY close encounter with some of the local carnivorous wildlife - a puma, sitting right in the middle of the trail, which was incredible, if a bit nerve wracking for a minute), and I did the jet boat ride under the falls. If you're going to do that when it's not 100 degrees outside, expect to be VERY VERY cold. Bring spare clothes and layers for afterwards. They don't lie. You'll get wet. Extremely. The food at the hotel was good but not outstanding. Breakfast buffet by the pool was pleasant. Dinner somewhat standard. The bar was nice. Piano player, lots of old polished wood and good cocktails. I had a good massage at the spa. Overall I had a really nice stay at Cataratas and I would stay here again if I was going back to the falls. Mostly for the location.

Room Tip: I probably wouldn't take the hotel car from the airport. Taxi is half the price and perfectly fi...

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for sharing your opinion and experience with us.

We are most pleased to hear that you did enjoy your stay and our services. You are completely right; having the park just for yourself, after it closes for outside visitors is a unique experience.

And "wow", to encounter a Puma like that is really luck! They are normally very hard to spot.

We are looking forward for your next stay with us, and maybe, we can organize a Jaguar then.
