The only hotel within the park on the Brazilian side. During the day (especially weekends) the park becomes very crowded. The best time to view the falls are before 9AM and after 4PM. The hotel is across the street from the falls - so you have full access anytime of day.

Pros:
Location – Location – Location
Free Wi-Fi
Breakfast buffet is included (they told me this as I was checking out)
Park bus is free - takes you from hotel to largest water fall
Beds and pillows are wonderful
Complimentary use of umbrellas

Cons:
On property food is mega expensive:
Dinner buffet is 105 Brazilian Reals
Can of soda is 8 Brazilian Reals
There are no other food options nearby – with the exception of the park where you can get a decent hamburger, fries and drink for 18.50 Brazilian Reals
During park power failure – the emergency generator does not include Air-conditioning
Wi-Fi is open without any security (easy for others to intercept communication)
Concierge desk is run by outside company and they will push you into their set programs
Laundry for a t-shirt is 15 Brazilian Reals
Laundry for socks is 9 Brazilian Reals

My husband and I stayed here for two nights during our two week trip to Brazil. Whilst we arent used to staying in such high end places, we chose it due to its location in the National Park as we could only stay for two nights and needed as much time as possible to view the falls from both sides. This place is perfect as we didnt fly in until about 4pm and we would have completely lost that first day if we had not had the hotel's access to the park in the evening.
We got a taxi from one of the private stands at the airport, which charged a fixed price of R$30, which i have to say is ridiculous because it is literally about 2km away from the gates to the National Park where you get dropped off for the hotel! However, we ended up making friends with our driver and he took us over to Argentina the next day so it didnt work out too badly. You can just get a yellow cab outside the terminal and I imagine the meter wouldnt get past about R$10-15 if you chose to do it this way. Our driver then took us to the ticket office at the National Park where we needed to buy entrance tickets. I had heard that the hotel puts this onto your room charge but they didnt in our case so im not sure whether this has changed recently - either way its the same price. The lady at the ticket office also said that if you stay at the hotel you will pay an extra R$7 per day for your entrance to the park but again, we didnt get charged this.
we then got taken to another gate where we had to get out of the taxi and wait for the Hotel's shuttle bus, which comes every 20 minutes. We were taken to a very nice air conditioned room whilst we waited and then took the bus, which takes about 15 minutes.
Check in was lovely...it was very quick and one of the concierges showed us around the facilities and our room. the room itself was lovely too (yes, on the small side as other reviewers had said but absolutely perfect for our stay) and the bathroom was awesome, with a huge shower and two sinks. There is a safe in the room, plenty of storage space, free Haviana flip flops for you to take away (you can change the size with housekeeping if it isnt right) and a "turning down" service at the end of the niight when housekeeping come in, clean up your room and leave chocolates / a note about the next day's weather report. The toiletries were of a very high quality and there was a mini bar too.
Food in the hotel was nice - we didnt choose to go to the buffet (I didnt even see it as it is at the pool restaurant) as we preferred to eat on the outiside terrace at the bar, overlooking the Falls. Yes, its not cheap but about on par with a decent restaurant in the UK and you cannot beat the location! The bar serves some appetisers and a variety of sandiches / burgers etc. It said on the menu that they only servd until 6 but we ate at 8pm one night and 9pm the next. The cocktails were also lovely, with large measures!
then there is the breakfast! this was possibly the best breakfast I have had in a hotel (and i have had some good ones!). It is a buffet style with everything you could possibly want and all of it was very high quality. They also serve sparkling wine with breakfast if you fancy a Mimosa! The pool area was very luxurious with a large pool and a lot of very comfortable sun loungers.
The park itself is lovely (Brazil has the view but Argentina has the Falls!). We were wandering around the park after it closed to the public which was amazing....we only encountered a couple of people the entire time. Watching sunset over the falls was priceless too.
Im not sure what the hotel charges for a day trip to the Argentinian side but we paid our taxi driver R$120 to take us, get us through the border and then pick us up at a specified time. This is well over the meter price but it helped a lot as it appears very few people that we encountered in Brazil spoke English (they did at the Hotel, very well i might add!) and it was so much easier this way, without hoards of toursists on a tour bus. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel if you can fit it into your budget....it is WELL WORTH the money!!!

Room Tip: We didnt have a room over looking the falls but this didnt matter to us (for the difference in price...

Cant write enough good about this hotel I am sure. It is truly an experience to stay there. Weither it was for the Iguazu Falls or not. The hotel is beautiful and very stylish with a very comfy feeling. The massage in the spa excellent as was the food. Normally I dont care for buffet style dinners but, I would come back here any day. The meat is so nice and tender. The in house travel office go out of their way to help you with the special needs you might have. Thus the hotel overall is simply exceptional!

The Rooms have a great character far from the generic styles found in most hotels. The way the lights both in the room and around the hotel makes the place simply exceptional even for picture taking in the evening. While I at most meals in the restaurant i also ordered a burger to the room.... I had to upload the picture as it says it all. That care that go into preparing anything in this hotel has to be experienced.

It is not even fair to complain about the price in this hotel. It is costly but simply worth it if you are after an exceptional experience. Thus it might be worth camping in a tent to save the money elsewhere if you consider this a bit too pricey. and yes that is even before you go to see the falls :-)

Wonderful stay. Terrific food and super service. Ask for a room that overlooks the falls. It's wonderful to wake up with sound of the water. Take an early morning stroll to the end of the park to watch the sunrise. The boat trip along the river is a must as well. If you want to read in the restaurant outside by the pool then make sure you book a table early in the day.

There is no better place to stay when visiting the breathtaking Iguassu falls. Without doubt the best location I have ever stayed anywhere. Can't find fault with anything so make sure if visiting the falls you choose this truly fabulous hotel.

After a cruise from Rome to Rio, we spent 2 nghts at this magnificent hotel. A second stay at an Orient Express Hotel "
Must say it was the best part of our one month trip .Everything was perfect : location , room ( 2225), food and service. We could not have asked for more or better.
The bathroom amenities are the best of the best, I preferred them to my favorite ones Moulton and Brown and they were constantly replenished. The slippers are not ordinary ones but Havaianas. What a nice souvenir to bring back
Not to be missed: the birds park ( parque de Aves )Probably the best one we have been to.

Room Tip: ask for a room facing the back and with a balcony. We had 2225

The Hotel forgot to fetch us from the airport and immediately I thought "this isn't going to be good". How wrong I was. If you ever want to experience "The remarkable recovery" they sure delivered at Das Cataratas. Complimentary Helicopter your of Iguassu, free Spa treatments - almost recommend that you organize that your pickup doesn't arrive. Seriously, a sensational hotel with great food, service and situated in one of the finest spots in the world. By chance we happened to visit during full moon and the full moon your of the falls is worth it - so if you can plan your trip around full moon time, I highly recommend it.
