We loved this hotel. It is the only hotel in the park on the Brazilian side and that meant we could go out on the trails before the general public entered the park in the morning. This meant seeing the views of the falls with no crowds. The path to the devils throat left from in front of the hotel. So convenient. An easy downhill walk to the best views.. No guide needed.
The hotel itself was just lovely. Just remodeled the rooms were decorated in beautiful colonial decor.
The lobby bar was charming and the cocktails delicious.
The food in the restaurant was very good but we were surprised that there was only one restaurant open. The restaurant was nice for breakfast but not a great atmosphere for dinner. Lights too bright. The hotel looked empty.
Highly recommend this place for the best place to see the Brazalian side of the falls.

My wife and I arrived on Christmas Day for 2 nights, and left thinking that this was one of the nicest hotel experiences we have had. The room was fine -- not particularly large, but comfortable. On the other hand, the public areas of this lovely old-school facility were very attractive and well maintained. The pool area is very inviting, both during the day and in the evening when it is beautifully lit. Finally, the service was absolutely outstanding. On a sunny afternoon at the pool, the staff made the rounds distributing chilled wet towels to cool off, complimentary skewers of cut fruit and (for a reasonable price) cold fresh coconuts with the top cut off, with a straw to drink the refreshing coconut water.

Two critical points regarding location: First, keep in mind that this is the only hotel inside the national park. This means that before the park opens at 9 in the morning, and after it closes at (I think) 5 in the afternoon, you share the walkways overlooking the waterfalls only with your fellow hotel guests. This is a huge advantage over other hotels. Second, it is true that there are more trails, etc. on the Argentine side. However, because this hotel is so superior to the places to stay close to the falls on the Argentine side, if your budget allows you should stay at least 3 nights at Cataratas, taking a taxi early one morning to the Argentine side to get there when the park opens and returning in the late afternoon after you have walked the 3 circuits, with lunch and maybe a boat ride. This leaves one day for the Brazil side of the falls with the bird park and time for pool.

Not a thrifty experience at all. You might pay a little more to stay here, but you'll never reget the spend. This place offer's you the very best in comfort, service and facilities within the National Park with the very best aspect of the famous Falls directly in front of the Hotel. Highly recommended for a multiple-night's stay.

Room Tip: A basic room is all that you need.

An absolutely wonderful hotel right on the Brazilian side of the falls. Great service at all levels - reception, room service, pool, etc. A huge pool with excellent service - every 10 minutes coming around with cold towels, fruit, etc. Great breakfast too. Definitely worth the price as you save lots of time and money being in the middle of the park.

... an expensive one indeed for normal beings, but worth every cent! this is luxus vacation and adventure at the sametime ... great for a (longer) weekend (3-4 nights are sufficient). 180% recommendation! Service, hospitality and locations are great.
